I’m interested to know how graphically this compares to a Quest 2 that is hard-wired to a high spec PC.
Playing HL:Alyx on the Quest 2 felt revelatory to me, but if this is a further improvement I could be tempted.

Another question to the lucky ones already with PSVR2 kits from me and on behalf of anyone else with similar concerns… I have psoriatic arthritis which affects my hands. For example I get mild stress from regular dualsense gaming already and strong rumble games make this worse…. In the Eurogamer articles it was mentioned that the grip function on the Sense controllers could result in hand stress after fairly short gaming periods. Can anyone shed any further opinions on this as to how significant it is and also is it a regular issues from the majority or games played or is it more specific to certain games (the grip issues as far as I could tell was common from Horizon during the bow sections?) Thank you. (Already had mention from others about ability to disable rumble on Dualsense which was great) I don’t know if there are calibration options for the grip function on the PSVR2 sense controllers to lessen hand stress from the required grip force being quite high and constant? I’ve got PA as well, interested that you find rumble a problem. I’m on drugs for it now as could barely walk, immune modulators. As a result my hands are much more useful too and could probably even play an fps or action game, but thankfully not interested as it’s high-risk. I ruined my hands pretty much thinking I could play Rock Band Piano back in the day, were totally unusable for a long time. It’s such a weird condition. Being unfit seems to make it worse, but exercise also makes it worse. Sorry to hear that A sounds like you are doing a good job with management and steering clear of activities/games which would impact you badly which I agree is the mantra to better health. I don’t find rumble a big problem but I think games with strong rumble (especially more old school rumble like on a switch pro controller for example) does add to hand stress. I notice games requiring prolonged periods of trigger holding also have an effect. Any PSVR2 owner who can give some feedback on hand stress from the grip function in the sense controllers would be appreciated as queried above. Thank you!

I would assume it'd be similar to normal gaming on a dualsense for the most part. You hold the VR sense controllers resting in your middle, ring and pinky fingers, with the index on the trigger. The L1 and R1 buttons are under your middle fingers on the grip of the controllers, which I guess is where the stress comes from when they need to be held, but I've not played Horizon yet so don't know the mechanic. On everything I have played (Kayak, NMS, Synth Riders) it's at most a normal button press to activate something.

I think that is it when it comes to HL:A. I'm sure Sony would love it to be there, but it would require Valve to wheel their desks together to form a "port HL:A to PSVR2" team. I expect no one is that interested, unless Sony throw so much money at them they can't ignore it (and judging by the amount of money Valve makes, it would have to be a lot of money).

Probably better for someone to take the lessons learnt from Alyx to make something along those lines than expect Valve to be anything but Valve.
Capcom with their Resident Evil VR experience could turn out to be the ones to do that.

Alyx was developed purely to shift Index headsets. I think Valve will be watching the sales figures for PSVR2 closely now before committing to a port. I wouldn't be surprised if they used a hired dev for it, rather than Valve troubling themselves over it. It's a shame because it would work perfectly on PSVR2 and be a guaranteed hardware seller for Sony.
I'd like to see Capcom capitalise on their support for VR and maybe do an Umbrella Chronicles 3 VR, or even just remaster and adapt the originals.

So what's the ideal "here non-gaming family member, try out VR" game this time around? On PSVR 1 it was the shark dive in my house. Thought it might be Kayak this time, but it sounds like that's a bit taxing on the tummy. Warning. Missus just had a go of Kayak for no more than 5 minutes. And she is now laying on the sofa trying to sleep off the motion sickness…

I know it's not a hot take in general, nor for this thread, but it boggles my mind that Sony don't have some pack-in titles to ease people into VR, and provide exactly what people are asking for above: a "safe" way to let people try it out.
Rift was doing this from the start, and it was excellent. I just can't fathom why they wouldn't have done this. They even have the perfect vehicle, in AstroBot, to pull it off.

They did it last time. This time they seem to have gone for demos instead. I thought the demos were put out by various publishers rather than by Sony? It's ridiculous they didn't include either a physical demo disk or a downloadable compilation after they did 2 for the first PSVR.

It’s a bit jump in the deep endy and it’s particularly tempting to just fire up Horizon as the main big exciting game, but it’s not a great intro to VR.

The 'demo disc' (that was also digital) for PSVR 1 was pretty much an introduction game in its own right, with its own VR-based menu screens etc. They should have done something similar here.

Oh and VR Worlds came with a pretty comprehensive demo, which included the shark dive (or the sharkless dive for the more nervous) - which was the ideal introduction.

Sony could certainly have pushed people towards downloading some intro demos with a bundle code of demos, they couldn't have put a disc in the box this time around as DE owners couldn't do anything useful with it.

Definitely getting my VR legs now. Can do GT pretty much no problem now.
GT is astonishing. Probably my biggest gaming wow moment for about 20 years. Such a thrill to try out all the different cars, completely different from the normal game. The sense of place for each car is palpable. The way the seating positions changes and you have to learn to look for things like speed and mirrors in a different place for every car. It’s just so fucking cool.

Demeo works fine in flat (me at the moment) and VR as mcgeeza was playing in it so if you're into a bit of Gloomhaven style gaming it should be on your radar. Just try to avoid bunching up and everyone getting bad rolls...

Seems odd they wouldn’t have a demo / mini games / astrobot thing ready to go. PSVR2 appeals to (I think) people who thought the first looked unready. Big reason I was surprised it wasn’t immediately backwards compatible, would have been far more tempting to me if it came with loads of games already. I understand the technical reasons behind it, still doesn’t make sense that they didn’t upgrade the existing entry games for launch.

Headset is nowhere near as comfortable as PSVR 1 imo. That just sat nice and easily on top of your head and the visor kind of floated in front of your eyes. This one feels like a tight band around the perimeter of your head, rather than resting on top, with the visor pulling down a bit. Maybe I just need to play around with the position but that's not a great first impression.
