Fucking hell that was superb, an assist and a cracking goal for Saka.

I was just telling my other half he was having a bit of a stinker. 5 minutes later he's got an assist and a goal.

How many more do we need to start talking about a golden generation? Bellingham, Saka and Foden could get in any international team in the world and they are 19, 21 and 22.

This team had a great chance at the last WC and a great chance at the last EC. It will have a great chance in the next 3 or 4 major tournaments. After growing up never experiencing that, I will take what we have right now for sure.

I wasn't being hugely serious, just referencing the media's propensity to roll out the label. Feels like that moniker is coming to this team given the age profile of our best players.
It's not related to winning anything, it's just about having more than your usual quota of exceptional players come through at once.

There is something so odd about that Bear Gryll’s add.

Now take Saka off too.
Edit: seriously Southgate? Take them off but leave Saka on.

Won’t see many more comfortable qualifiers than that. In 2nd gear for the 2nd half, which is understandable.

Stevie G is such a personality vacuum. Giving him a microphone was a terrible mistake.

Not seen them play much but they must be better than Maguire and Dier.

When did you grow up? because it was only 15 years ago when England had the last golden generation that had all the best players in the world (according to the media) that got beat by every decent team they played when it mattered

Last golden generation were a bunch of cunts though. Look at the actual world class players in that team, Cole, Ferdinand, Gerrard, Lampard, Rooney. Entitled dickheads. It’s easier to have belief in the current batch.

It’s easier to have belief in the current batch. Dickheads for sure. But they won basically everything in club football. There's the old adage that apparently that was because they got carried by foreign players, but that is only partly true, if at all. The current Englanders, not pulling up much in terms of trophies in the club game really. But still time, and certainly the last two major tournaments they had much better chances to win than the old 'Golden Generation' did imo.

The diving and 'gamesmanship' by Spain here is genuinely embarrassing.
