I have no faith in this being anthing but mediocre. I think they nailed the graphics, but all gameplay sections were uninspiring. The worst part was the ending where she makes a decision not to bribe. You would think it would be difficult to leave the planet but no she casually strolls out and flies away.

It looks very pretty, but I can't say I found it that inspiring. Maybe I'm just kinda jaded on this kind of game.
An open world/galaxy scoundrel sim is exactly what I've always wanted, but.. hmm.. maybe too late for me.

I've only skimmed the video (supposed to be working), but looked really good to me. Just hope it has some focus and isn't too sprawling. Open World (and Ubisoft open world in particular) have a habit of just being too much stuff, a lot of it uninteresting. Hopes are up though.

I think the comments about it being standard Ubi OpenWorld are probably spot on, and yet...
The games do still appeal to me, I like the pacing, they're easy to just pick up and play sometimes when I don't want anything particularly cerebral.
Put it in a Star Wars setting? Yeah, I'm likely in.

I do think the dialogue was decent and voice acting was great( except the officer with a britisch accent). Again she was overly chatty during combat almost like... forspoken.

The dev commentary over the video was worth watching as it gave some more details including seeing the mocap of Nix which is pretty hilarious. Time stamped to when it kicks off.

I got some Forspoken vibes during the trailer as well, except that this protagonist stays on the right side of the uncompromising badass/abrasive asshole line (from what we've seen so far, at any rate).

Only issue is it is an open world Ubisoft game. If they don't follow their formula I will be shocked. Takes all the fun out of it when most of the games are the same just with different visuals.

I like Assassin’s Creed. I should be specific, because I don’t really delve into Far Cry or the Tom Clancy stuff much. But AC started the map icon jumble every one hates.
This looked.. okay. The combat and animations seemed janky, the dialogue and choices seemed basic, as mentioned above, the chase seemed not like a chase. I want to be excited, but I’m getting a very “Okay out of 10” vibe from it.

Okay, just watched the gameplay video - I'm all in, looks right up my street. I know it will probably have the usual Ubi open world bloat, but it looks so damn good I don't care this time round (I'm also a sucker for a good third-person perspective shooter).
I'm also not ashamed to say I made noises when her ship entered space for the first time and that Star Wars space music started, followed by the hyperdrive being engaged; looked fantastic. I really hope this is as good as I'm imaging it could be....gone straight near the top of my most anticipated games.

I thought it really looked good... BUT it's Ubisoft and you have to take a pinch of salt with what they show due to things like downgrades and masquerading vertical slices as things from the actual game.

but I’m getting a very “Okay out of 10” vibe from it. A perfect summary, overall felt like that was all of the Ubisoft showcase. All pretty decent stuff but nothing earth shattering. But hey more okay games if it means less broken games. |

We're probably due a linear game revival soon. Hopefully.
Will go nicely with the 90s revival that seems to be happening atm.

As much as I've enjoyed a lot of open-world games, and really like when games take a semi-open world approach, I'd love a few more big-budget linear games with tight pacing, stories and solid action (this is why I fucking love Arkham Asylum, which is my favourite of the series because of that linearity). |
