Ok I’m ready to climb to the netherbrain. I was quite there before. All intact although I had to revive the emperor about 3 times on the way up. The useless twat. Looking forward to calling in all my allies, especially the strange ox . That whole thing was just really weird so looking forward to seeing what happens (probably nothing). If you want a clue on how to cheese the finale, using existing powers, just let me know...

Let me know..I've already finished it via the easy way but I'm up for cheese next time I get there.

OK, done. 141hr I'm definitely going to play through again, but will play something else for a bit. Not totally sure if I can mop up the rest of the trophies on a single playthrough. Tactician mode feels like it will be tough.

Finally completed the game. Steam claims I spent 280 hours, but this probably includes a fair few hours when the game was paused and I was eating meals, or similar. Got the trophy for completing on Tactician (apparently only 2.8% of players have done this!)
Have already started playthrough #2 as Durge. Probably won't get as obsessive though.

I’ve defeated the Netherbrain. Got the endings I wanted which was pretty much happy for everyone. Attended the reunion, which was nice I guess but not really much going on . Just need to press the button on ‘end your adventure’, but struggling to do it for some reason. It’s been a hell of a journey.

Just need to press the button on ‘end your adventure’, but struggling to do it for some reason. It’s been a hell of a journey. I actually loved it. The chance to meet all of your companions again, swap news and hugs, find out what everyone has been doing, and all the letters from the minor characters. It felt like a proper send-off for what was, as you say, a hell of a journey. There’s even a post-credits scene…

Yeah it was nice, and I almost missed the letters!
What a game though. Honestly I felt act 3 outstayed it’s welcome slightly, just too much to do and dragged things out a bit too long. It didn’t help that I reached level 12 very early in act 3 so nothing much changed through the act, character wise. It also got a bit buggy at times and the camera can be a nightmare.
Minor complaints though. It’s incredible what they created and the fact that I could play it again and experience it in a different way is all the more incredible. I may play again at some point, but it’s such a big game I’m not sure. Although I’d probably get through in half the time, it’s still a big commitment.
In summary, 10/10.

I'm still going. 150 hours now. Gradually getting through Act 3. Can't believe they made the final Act even bigger than everything else. Absolutely absurd.
It is _maybe_ too big. Maybe.

Think I started in October... I haven't played anything else since. 4 solid months. It's a part time job.

I didn't mind act 3 size but the lack of variety in destination. I felt act 1 was by far the best and then 2 was definitely better than 3.

Finished Act 1 last night at Level 6 at about 1am with my two co-op buddies - top stuff.
Fiancee told me I looked like shit this morning and I need to get some sleep.
Has she even seen the reviews?

I’m a bit shit at turned based combat, but the game is immense. Almost overwhelming with all the possibilities and options.
Currently running with my barb, shadowhart, gale and astarion. Now experimenting with Shadowheart squirting water over everything and Gale zapping with electricity.
Also, pulled the wrong lever at a certain windmill. Oops.

I’d say my only complaint (on PS5) is trying to manoeuvre yourself to pick up small journals/pull levers etc. alright if it stands out enough to click the right stick in and go over it, but the amount of time I’ve spent spinning the camera to focus on a tiny healing potion is ludicrous.
(Although I did hold a button yesterday and it seemed to ‘ping’ and search a list of everything in the vicinity, so maybes that’s something I should be using?).

Yeah it is a bit fiddly trying to target things. Like you say pressing and holding X on ps5 is the best option as you can scroll through everything on the vicinity.

Me again. Getting back into the swing of things in Act 2 and finally arrived at Moonrise KingdomTower. Found a rather interesting pit in the prison. I'm paying the price for my bugged Halsin experience (i.e, rescued him but he went AWOL in the Goblin Camp) as now the Art Cullagh questline has come to a premature end. Sorry Thaniel. May you forever climb that tree.

May you forever climb that tree. I’m at that bit now - trying to work out how to safely break Wulbren and the Tieflings out of prison. I managed to get whole party arrested and thrown in jail, which led to an entertaining escape through the area that - I think - is also at the bottom of that pit. It was a bit of a nightmare getting all my equipment back, largely due to the overzealous guards trying to arrest me all over again whenever I went in that room… some save scumming ensued, but I finally managed to get Astarion to pickpocket the key to the chest all my stuff was in, then sneak in through the window to liberate it, before legging it out the window again. I love that the game allows you to do this, but it was a massive ballache having to distribute all my stuff back to the rest of my party… shame the game couldn’t remember who held what before I was arrested. Anyway, I now just need to sort the prison break without getting them all killed on the way to safety… I’ve had a couple of failed attempts so it’s easier said than done!

I love that the devs basically expected that people would try to break the game, and incorporated ways for them to do exactly that. TIL that you can recruit Karlach way sooner than you’re ’officially’ supposed to. Once you reach the Grove, there’s a ladder in the room Zevlor is in that takes you outside. You can actually see Karlach from there, but if you climb up the cliffs a bit further, you get to a point from which even my Str 8 Sorcerer could jump down to beside her without any spells, potions or anything. All it cost was 17hp! Then you can recruit her and fast travel out, and you have her without having to fight your way to her first.

Killed Lae'zel off when she wanted me to hand over the artifact in the creche (I'm playing as Shadowheart, friends are playing as Gale and Astarion).
Never liked her anyway.

killerbee Didn't even know you could get arrested there. I guess that's what the hole in the floor in one of the cells is for? docrob I read a story Sven Vincke told about the boss fight in the Grimforge. He saw someone put a healing potion on the giant anvil, lure the boss over and drop the hammer on both the boss and their player character. Boss dead, player character downed, but the hammer also smashed the potion which spilled and revived the player. It's not an interaction the game needed to have, but stuff like that existing really encourages you to play around with the mechanics more.

Reminds me of Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom but with even more options to choose from, you have an objective but there's no one "valid" way to do it I don't remember if I read it here or somewhere else, but somebody apparently killed (boss spoiler) Gortash by throwing his mother's corpse at him hard enough
