I'm the same - I went with the 7800x3D, 32GB DDR5 6000, all SSD (no SATA) but a 4070 card. Might regret not waiting for the Supers but was a full build back in November and I was impatient!
Had planned to update the monitor as current is 2560 x 1080 but not yet jumped for a new one. Planning 1440p Ultrawide and the new MSI OLED is looking very nice but very pricey.
Reckon the 4070 will be good for that monitor res for a while but 4k would be a bit much.
MSFS has been a revelation with the step up from my i5-6000/1070 combo though.

I don't know, with frame gen, DLSS and Ray reconstruction you might get 60fps at least, probably much, much more at 4k.
It's not necessarily the GPU's themselves, but the features they offer that can make the difference. That's where Nvidia are smashing it right now.
Not in terms of price though.

Dragon's Dogma 2's Recommended System Requirements OS: Windows 10 (64-bit) CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X / Intel Core i7-10700 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 6700 / Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Memory: 16GB of RAM DirectX: Version 12 Storage: TBD These system requirements should net 2160i/30fps performance.
Both hardware examples are for 30fps. Wonder if there is a high refresh option

That's a really hefty CPU requirement. 7 year old GPU is fine, but need a much newer CPU!

"Looking into ways to improve performance in the future" doesn't bode well for a speedy fix to the issues.

What's the equivalent CPU in the current gen consoles? Surely they must also end up having a rough time...

The Series X SoC with the GPU disabled is released as the 4800S and the PS5 one similarly as the 4700S (with crippled IO to boot) but in terms of ones commonly available, a downclocked 3700X is closest.
