There's the "end of the world" ending from Little Shop of Horrors that they cut because it depressed everyone at the test screenings. I think it's how the original play ends?
I actually like the ending we got, it's more or less a happy one but then teases something extra.

Honourable mention to the nonsense alternate ending of The Abyss, where the water aliens almost kill all of humanity with mega tsunamis, but decide not to because Ed Harris wrote a love message to his (ex) wife. A better one would have been them going ahead with it.

Titanic has an awful* alternative ending
*the studio apparently pushed for a more didactic ending and so Cameron intentionally filmed the most hamfisted version he could, and the studio relented.

Ha, I've never seen or even heard of that before. It's amazing (and awful, obviously). Gotta say though, despite how cheesy and OTT it is, Paxton really sells the hell out of it. He was fab.

Strictly speaking Wayne’s World and Clue don’t have alternative endings because the alternative endings are the actual endings not alternative ones. Yeah. On release Clue did have 3 different endings, with different prints being shown in different cinemas. Only when it got a home release did they have all 3 together.

Recently I rewatched the original Invasion of the Body Snatchers. The original ending to that (which is still a scene in the film) had the main character ranting about the body snatchers, then turning to the camera and screaming THEY'RE ALREADY HERE! YOU'RE NEXT! YOU'RE NEXT! And cut to credits.... As a nice little cameo, the same actor appears in the 1978 version. He runs up to the car with Donald Sutherland and Brooke Adams in and starts ranting in the same way, warning them that something is coming and they are next, before getting killed off screen in a (possibly suspicious) car incident. Whilst a re(re)make, this allows you to class it as a sequel, with the pod people having moved from a small town to a city (if we ignore the 20 year time gap).

Yeah, it's a nice little cameo. Iirc he's saying the exact same lines from the original.

That Titanic alternative ending is unreal. Do you think he told Paxton to really go to town making sure the studio execs wouldn’t get their way?

That Titanic ending is horrific. Kudos to everyone for attempting it. Even the people doing the score.

Fairly terrible film, but I thought the alternative ending to Paranormal Activity in which the lead character slits her throat whilst smiling into the camera was much more effective than the flinging the husband's body at the camera end. A lot more eerie than the clichéd jump scare end that the other one was.

The only other one I can remember is on the DVD of Bulletproof Monk - which is an achievement on my part because the world at large has forgotten that film existed. Bad film, bad endings both. The film with Stifler in it? No, I don't remember it.

Stifler: Action hero.
Who knows why it failed.

In the original ending to Pretty Woman he throws her out of the car along with her money and Kit dies of a drug overdose.

I wish there was an alternate cut of Withnail & I, where something happened that was funny or quote worthy.

It's not really an alternative ending, but there was that directors cut of Picnic at Hanging Rock, which had the distinction of being shorter than the theatrical release. Afaik it was to remove scenes that pointed more obviously to a solution to the mystery, because "we don't know what happened to the girls and never will know" feels closer to the spirit of the movie.
(the book had a cut chapter that shows what actually happened to them, and yeah... that little nugget was better left unadapted)

It's moot now as all the endings were included in the home release, but Clue had multiple endings that were distributed across America when released at the cinema. So you could have seen a different ending than your friend in the next city.

Which means "Somewhere That's Green" makes more sense in a darkly comedic way as she does end up being eaten by Audrey 2.

Not so much the ending but versions with different scenes released around

The casting of Bill Paxton as Tidus worked surprisingly well.
