Hah, you've just made me remember the cement garden being an extremely awkward film to watch with my mum as a young teen.
Not sure I could ever bring myself to watch it again and relive the memories.

Picked up a copy of O.C. and Stiggs in the Radiance flash sale - www.radiancefilms.co.uk/products/o-c-and-stiggs-leIt's a forgotten Altman and it's completely insane. Anarchic and absurdist scattergun teen comedy that somehow rips the piss out of films like Ferris Beuller before they even existed. It even has a character that looks exactly like Ferris Beuller (played by Ducky from Pretty in Pink). Altman said he hated teen comedies, which makes sense, this is full of ridiculous, purposefully one-dimensional characters doing insane things for no reason. It's very much like Beavis and Butthead, Wayne's World, or Cheech and Chong. It has an Abe Lincoln joke that absolutely sent me. It's probably a bit too chaotic, and I'm pretty sure it's quite racist and homophobic even when it's trying not to be, but I loved it (not endorsing those being racist or homophobic).
