1 win in 5 years now for Cody

The ending of Nunes Pena reminded me of Blachowicz Teixiera. Both champs just seemed not quite there on the night and tapped pretty quickly, but any other night they would have won handily. I wonder if new motherhood is a factor for Nunes.
She'll get a rematch for sure and really should demolish Pena if she's on her game.

1 win in 5 years now for Cody I think he will only be remembered for that one night of brilliance against Cruz. He has no chin and his fight IQ is awful. O'Malley will probably starch him badly if they meet.

Colby vs Masvidal happening.
Masvidal is going to get absolutely battered.

Probably, but everyone said Askren would batter him as well. He will likely be wrestlefucked into oblivion though.

Zombie vs Volkanovski confirmed too
I'd have liked the Max fight, even though it'd be the 3rd time but this is alright.

Surprised Masvidal signed for it. Felt like he was avoiding the Colby fight.

Good main event. Liked the way Calvin fought, smart gameplan and solid pressure to take away some of Giga's weapons.
And I think it's worth a mention given the forum, but there's a semi-official Robert Whitaker mod in Skyrim now. Modelled and also fully voiced by Whitaker himself, might have some quests too.

Good card but did not see the main event going to decision.
Moreno held back way too much especially in that 5th round.

Never would have had Francis winning like he did. Really happy for him and I am thrilled he won, but I had it even going into the 5th and I thought Gane took the round as he was really going for that sub and I don't think Francis did much on top. But whatever, I'm happy. I really like Francis and I hate what the UFC is trying to do to him. He was in exactly Ciryl's position in the first Stipe fight. He was being pushed hard as the next big thing and they wanted him to beat Stipe. He lost and Dana shat all over him. Now he's trying to play hardball and Dana is pushing Ciryl. Oh well, cry me a River Dana. Ciryl is probably the biggest threat to Francis at HW, I really don't know who else is good enough at the moment to beat him, so Francis will probably be champ for a while yet.

images.app.goo.gl/FFE3ogNSyy3e2XcW6Yeah, glad Francis won and did not see it going like that at all. I also think he did enough to comfortably take the last round. In other news, I've just cancelled my BT Sport sub. I used to only pay £3 a month, then it went up to £5, now it's up to £15. Which given I only watch the UFC on it, is not good value anymore. Might have a look at a Fight Pass sub or see if Dazn pick up the rights at some point.

Noticed Dana being a bitch and having someone else put the belt on him

I read somewhere DAZN were considering buying BT Sport. Not sure if that's actually happening.
As for the fights, I thought Gane probably won too, but it's one of those where there wasn't enough action to be all that fussed either way. Figuereido/Moreno was good.
The Ngannou contract situation is weird. I think he's even considering leaving the promotion at the end of the year and Dana looks like he wants nothing to do with him. It'd really be a shit look for the UFC if they're prepared to let their Champion walk simply because they don't want to pay their fighters better. I know they're stingy and hate it when fighters ask for more but bloody hell, at least make an effort to keep your top fighters. I guess they're happier to pad out cards with lower level talent and cheaper guys from the Contender series or whatever though

I think it's not just a money thing but Francis also wanting the freedom to go off and do boxing too. I understand why the UFC won't allow that to happen. It would be nice if they'd pay everyone a bit more though. But I'm not a business man so what do I know? They're obviously doing something right in that sense.
Yeah I'd seen rumours of Dazn buying them out a few months back, but googling shows no more info since.

Dana's whole stick is alpha male in control so he turns into a right dick when someone fights back. He'll paint them as the cunt and put them in the worst possible light, made easier if they slip up and are a cunt like Jon Jones.
Only one he bends over for is Conor because those dollar signs are too big and he's not stupid.

Lukus That's a good point, it might not just be a money thing. Ngannou has talked about wanting to box and if I'm honest, I have little interest in seeing him do that. There's a few more bits of information coming out now. Dana/UFC do seem particularly pissed with Francis, who's standing his ground. Not sure where it all leads but hopefully something positive for fighters comes out of this. I like Gane, but now it feels nice that Francis won

Yeah, I don't either, he would get systematically taken apart in boxing too.
They seem to be making an example of him, like they did with Jones. Basically 'this is what happens if you done tow the line'.
I'd argue despite the comparison above, boxing is even more unfair in their pay structure. The big names are disproportionately compensated compared to the rest of the fighters, many of whom earn peanuts, relatively.
It's all a big mess.

baihu1983 I saw that, but then I read Kevin paid for the guys travel and accommodation. If that's the case, he got a free weekend away and an opportunity to grapple with a UFC fighter. Not bad

Looking forward to the main event in particular. Which I know generally goes without saying, but in the case of Adesanya/Whitaker, it's the 2 clear best in the division going at it. From a skill standpoint it's a treat (at least on paper!). Pulling for Whitaker
