Yeah, go to the opposite side of the mound and dangle the yoyo for long enough for them to gather, then drop the slinky one above where it needs to go and quickly run back waving the yoyo again.

Ah, I think I just used the slinky to lure them on one side and then used it again quickly on the other side. It only just managed to work and did feel like it wasn't the right way to do it.

Thanks all, got it figured out. Sometimes knowing it's possible helps, because I ended up with Vandelay's solution too. The moment you retract the yoyo they start following you, so placing the slinky on the right gives you time to run to the middle and drop the second one. After that you need the yoyo to keep them distracted while you run to the right.

Started sweeping up. I absolutely did not expect to find myself playing minigames of Snake and Arkanoid

Those 8 smiley faces, they are musical notes right? And what does the pencil do?

Hmm smiley faces? I've noticed smiley face stone things in the background at points. There's lots of things in the background. Too many things in the background.

The background things are important if you get deep enough into the game, but if you're still getting eggs they're not worth worrying about. Though, you could make a note about them. On your map. With... a pencil

Yup. I've just discovered another one. The UV Light I must confess though that I am now in the odd instance looking up one or two things when I get really stuck. Still trying to do as much as I can myself mind you. 46 eggs and counting.

Bit stuck now, 45 eggs, 1 candle left, and just need the 4th flame, but I’m just turning in circles now. Currently just running around beeping the remote and throwing the top everywhere, not clear what it can break and what it can’t.

Yeah, the problem with the top is that the stuff it can break isn't marked as clearly as I think it should be. But basically, it's anything on the ground that looks like a rough patch of dirt, as opposed to the straight lines of normal flooring.

UV light helps with the top as it literally shows a top icon above breakable ground.

Platinumed this today. Got to about 58 eggs, then used a guide for the rest (https://www.neoseeker.com/animal-well/All_Egg_Locations), frankly because the back and forth gets exhausting in places. But the stuff around the "true ending" is obscure enough in places to make Fez look straightforward. And thank God the platinum doesn't need anything to do with the clock or the rabbits. Decent 8/10 overall.

Didn't realize this was on PS Essential so re-subbed and downloaded it. About 3 hours in and I fucking love it. I mentioned Fez earlier in this thread and it very much puts me in the zone, no great pressure about losing lives/dying and strong emphasis on inquisition and experimentation.
Spent most of the time thinking I'm lost but the level design seems to be incredibly clever in that mostly there's only really a couple of viable routes and it's just figuring out how to join the dots.
Also completely love some of the subtle graphical effects and the audio generally. Especially setting off the firecrackers.
Edit - already wish it had a fast travel though, from save point to save point.
