I don't think Hugh is playing a nice bloke in this.

I love how Zemeckis keeps trying different things. I have no idea how that idea can sustain 2 hours though.

It does look very unique and I've got a lot of time for Zemeckis.
Part of me does think it looks like an those advert for Dulux or some other interior decorating supplier though, with a tagline about a house into a home or some such bollocks

Considering the two things I'm most familiar with Zemeckis' work from are Back To The Future and Manifest, this film could be a coin flip between a journey of fantastic brilliance, or a journey of trite stealth-religious nonsense.

Zemeckis's recent output (ie. the last 20 years or so) has been quite shit, though.

Zemeckis stole this idea from Inside No 9.

And then there's Polar Express, Beowulf, Pinocchio (not the good one), and The Witches. It's not a great track record imo.
But yeah, sure, he's probably built up enough goodwill in his early career to get me buying a ticket to the new thing.

Zemeckis stole this idea from Inside No 9. Here is based on a short 6 page comic strip that was published in 1989, that was later expanded to a 300 page graphic novel published on 2014

And that's a fair point, but he's one of those directors whose done enough good films and done some pretty innovative stuff (even if it didn't always work) so, yeah; I've got time for him.

I'm such a doofus, I have the comic Here and didn't put the two together.
If they go full on what they do in the comic this is going to be so alienating for the majority of the audience there to see a Tom Hanks movie. If they do cut and jump about time with cut outs showing things that happened in different years all on the same shot I'll be muttering "he did it, the mad fucker did it" with a grin all the way through.

That looks awful in every way. Not funny, a film about Santa that’s too violent and scary for anyone that might like the sound of it (children), every joke being shit, the Rock (a dick) and the action looking rubbish.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I have a soft spot for the 2019 Hellboy. It's absolutely a bad movie but it's a much better Hellboy/BPRD adaptation than the Del Toro films (which are good films but terrible adaptations)
That trailer doesn't fill me much with confidence though. Looks like The Conjuring but with a guy in a bad Hellboy cosplay instead of Patrick Wilson.

I'm kind of surprised at this point that they haven't just done a streaming series of Hellboy. I mean, the BPRD lends itself to a superb procedural show. Of course, if they did make a Hellboy TV series, it'd no doubt be a six hour movie cut up into weekly chunks like every other bit of genre TV.
