Games like HK and Blasphemous taught me to not give a shit about different endings (perhaps Mass Effect 3 played a role too). I got the bad ending? Whatever I honestly don't care anymore, I only care that I finished the game. If you hide your good ending behind a ton of arbitrary crap, well keep it then.

I don’t even know what ending I achieved, but I was happy enough. The journey being the important part, etc…
If the game was a little shorter, I’d have likely replayed it already to see what the others are like! It’s reason enough to return to it eventually.

I'm on a bit of a boss roadblock soon I think? I've got another Hornet fight that was kicking my arse, the Watcher Knights that were rolling my arse into pastry ready to be blind baked, and a boss that can solve the energy bills crisis for my arse. There's some map bits I need to have a look around as well, I can't find/get to Cornifer in 3 or 4 places Watcher Knights are on the main path to reach the simplest ending, so focus on them. They are one of the hardest non-optional bosses in the game, but should be fairly manageable once you get the knack for them. When I was going for the speedrun achievement, they were the biggest roadblock for me. I tried to skip the double jump, but it just makes that fight too hard (also ended up wasting most of my time around there trying to do the skip required to access the fight without the double jump and on the fight itself - probably could have shaved off 30-45 mins or so off my final time if I hadn't of attempted it). Honestly though, I would generally say, Watcher Knights excluded, if you are finding something really hard, you are probably not on the critical path. The stuff you have to do in order to get the credits to roll I wouldn't consider particularly any more difficult then other games of its type (at least, when not using a joycon!). If I had a complaint about the game, I would say the difficulty spike between the non-optional and optional stuff is basically a sheer cliff. There really should be some optional bits that ease you in a little more. I would suggest just focusing on completing the game with the easy ending first and then do the optional pieces afterwards, if you want the extra challenge. After you complete the game, loading your save file will take you to the bench right outside the final boss, so you don't have to restart to do the other bits and pieces.

Yeah, I never really went for the "Proper" ending - I took the first one and called it a massive victory. Which it was. I dug into the DLC a bit, but it quickly escalated beyond my skill/patience. The rest of the base game was tough but - ultimately - doable for someone of low to moderate skill. Definitely two particular points where I was ready to fire it into the fucking sun though.

I would have loved to 100% this and it was a bit frustrating to hit up against a wall and admit defeat. But I think Mola you might be getting hung up on the word "true" when you say true ending, they're all endings and any of them count as finishing the game in my book. I kinda like that there's such a high skill ceiling and little extra rewards for those that can achieve them. I can enjoy watching more skilled players flying through the path of pain, knowing it's not something I'd even want to attempt, and I think the devs probably intended much of the DLC content to be a challenge for the more hardcore players. Some players even find it way too easy, there are some amazing videos of modders creating ever harder and more insane challenges and boss fights that people go on to actually beat: But having said all that, I also hope the sequel doesn't go all-in on the punishing difficulty! Interesting video that despite the robot presenter. Absolutely blows my mind that humans can even play video games like those guys.
