Oh, Just Stop Oil protested during a Tekken tournament there, so that must have been exciting at least. Hang on the EG expo us the UK's biggest gaming convention??? Could've fooled me.

Was the curry bill splitting expo the same one where Fruitsalad got really drunk?

"Video games let us escape into new and exciting dimensions, but real world physics are about to deliver the deaths of billions," a Just Stop Oil spokesperson said. "Put more carbon into the atmosphere at this point and it's game over.
"Gamers co-operate to win, and we need these skills to survive. Everyone must step up and join in civil resistance against new oil and gas, because this isn't a game. Let's unite to make this world safe, so that we can get back to exploring cyber worlds."
Sounds like it was written by Gianni Infantino.

Did anyone attend the one where Dale got all pissy about splitting the bill in the curry house? Needs more details. I wasnt there, just followed the story afterwards on the forum. Sounds like Whizzo was there but missed the main part. My recollection is that Mungo (pre multiple meltdowns, Continue Play and Heart Cancer, but post-suing the NHS for discrimination) was very excited in the lead up to the event and getting everyone together. He was sort of a self-appointed proxy-leader / organiser on the forum. Then my understanding is some folks (about 20 at the meal maybe?) at the evening meal just wanted to split the bill evenly to keep it simple - but he started getting pissy about who had a starter, some people had beer and some didnt, wanting to trawl through the receipt in detail, and other such nonsense, then created a scene in the curry house and flounced off.

There hasn't been a Rezzed in two years. There are other game conventions around the country but nothing with the scale that EGX used to have, it's a shame that EGX has fallen so far.

I still think the demand is there for games expos from gamers. You can only look to comic cons that are heaving.. I think it's that developers/publishers don't want to spend the money on showcasing their games, and I can't see it changing. But have you been to Comic Cons? It’s 10% photo ops (which you have to pay for), 20% cosplaying and the rest is just shopping. Not much fun IMO.

I went to one comic con at earls court. I don't even remember any photo ops!
Also - I see the Science Museum in London has a new gaming exhibition with actual games to play. It's even got a 16 player halo game going!!!!! And a retro section.
It's only 10 quid, 15 for an annual pass...

I've been to a few and generally had a good time, but it's fairly local to us, so it's just a day of looking about. I've been to Eurogamer a few times where the queues for games are a good hour or so, which isn't exactly fun either.

Our first time at EAG was a great success. Bingo operators and suppliers felt ‘at home‘ at EAG and the Bingo Association Bingo Hub can only get bigger and better over the years. We are here to stay!’ Miles Baron CEO Bingo Association

Egx this year is the same week as the Paris Games Week. Monster hunter Wilds is definitely being demo'd at one of those.
Egx website is only showing one playable game/experience: Assassin's Creed Shadows
