I read that as "Placenta Bay" at first, and it immediately made sense.

With Eddie Murphy revisiting some of his old classic movies is it now time for Steve Martin to?

Meta fires staff for buying toothpaste, not lunch
the robot owner of Meta was confused why Humanoids would buy useless things like toothpaste and washing powder and not nutrition items to help them them work

Isn't that the same as most workplaces that do expenses?
Our install teams get expenses for food, drink and hotels. They can't buy 20 fags or new trainers with it.

Yeah, but unless they're buying hookers and drugs, you'd thinkhope they'd at least get a "stop buying toothpaste" warning.

I don’t think we’d get that for 10 years service.

I used to work with a guy who got fired for expensing all sorts of shit.
But I think it was mostly booze and cinema tickets, not hookers.

I'd say something snide, but that's exactly the sort of thing I'd manage to do for no reason whatsoever. At least she had a purpose.

I mean, who hasn't found at least part of their body trapped in an inanimate object at least once in their life?

I'd like to know what kind of data backs up this kind of call from the AA to ban under 21 yr old drivers from picking up passengers. Doesn't seem well thought through, you mean to say a 20 yr old parent can't drive their child?

At least that phone lady had a better outcome than the Nutty Putty cafe fella. Or the guy who died at the artificial cave place in Keswick.

Doesn't seem well thought through, you mean to say a 20 yr old parent can't drive their child? I get the message from pressure groups behind it because there's always going to be an emotive case that creates a pressure group but it's massively impractical and ignores a massive section of society that isn't a boy racer being egged on by their mates. It also flies into the face of the push to get people to do things like car pooling to reduce car usage and you know young parents with children.

I think the idea is against peer age passengers,. presumably because of the distractions being with mates can cause, especially lads wanting to show off to their mates and shit like that. I think some other countries have similar rules in place, Ireland for instance. I haven't got the stats but I've read quotes that suggest traffic accidents are now likely to occur when there's an car full of adolescents. I don't have any strong feelings about it either way and no idea how easy it would be to enforce, but that's the reasoning as I understand it. A young parent wouldn't have any issues driving their kid around.

The full headline was self explanatory and well within the Twitter character limit. "Drivers aged under 21 who have just passed their tests should be prevented from carrying passengers of a similar age for their first six months as drivers"

They're jumping on the coat tails of the coroner report into those poor lads who drowned in Wales, which recommended similar.

Im intrigued to know how that would be enforced in any meaningful way and the costs required to maintain and oversee it.

I don't know about this specific case. But often when some kind of interest group calls on the government to "do something" about a problem, the something they have in mind isn't exactly well thought through.

Interesting data. To be fair to the question in the tweet, there were discussions a few weeks back about annual/regular testing for older drivers, as they already do in several other countries
