Let's talk films that kick arse. Whether it's recommending classics like Way of the Dragon, or discussing the resurgence of the genre thanks to films like The Raid, the aim of this thread is to just be a cool place to chat.

I used to love anything with Ninjas as a kid. There was one particular movie called Sakura Killers that I loved
A few years ago i went and bought a VHS player and a copy of the aforementioned movie so I could watch it again
Wasn’t as good as I remembered

I watched Entwr the Dragon last month and, whilst still a classic and worth watching, it has aged like milk.

Finally got around to the Ip Man series, except 4 and loved them, even if 2 and 3 were hokey as hell. Donnie Yen has more charisma in his little finger than half of Hollywood

Donnie Yen has more charisma in his little finger than half of Hollywood Ip Man 4 is okay, but it's representation of Bruce Lee, who is the catalyst for the story, may annoy you. Also it has Scott Adkins doing a bad yanky accent.

Used to love the 80s era Jackie Chan films when I was younger, Project A and Police Story were favourites. Shame he’s turned into some sort of anti democracy shill lately though

Nope, he's been CCP for years. So are a lot of other HK stars you wouldn't have thunk, even some who were openly critical before.
I imagine a lot of it is pure survival.

At least, I wasn't even born when it was first released, and discovered it about 25 years later when I was a uni student, so it can't really have aged very much since the 90s, as it was already an old movie at that point. And it was awesome then. Some of the other Bruce Lee movies haven't aged so well, but he does still have a certain on-screen presence. Yeah, me too. I even met him once and he was a really nice guy who was exactly like you'd imagine him to be. It's a real shame. Rumble in the Bronx is also a really fun one of his. And Police story 3, which notable mainly for Michelle Yeoh managing to upstage him at every turn.

I highly recommend the Undisputed series, starting with the second film (the first is boxing-based and I've never seen it.)
Scott Adkins is great in it, as usual.
I also recommend Blood and Bone, should be in Netflix. It stars Michael Jai White and there are some great fight scenes.

I like Scott Adkins. He has an excellent series on youtube where he interviews martial arts stars called the Art of Action. Seems like a good guy.

Fist of Legend was great, I should watch that again. It's a lot more grounded than your wuxia joints, and had some absolutely killer fight scenes.

And I'll take any opportunity to plug the last two Universal Soldier movies. It's a mostly shit franchise, but Regeneration and Day of Reckoning are fucking great. And the latter of them has Scott Adkins in it too.

You know Bruce Lee's not really dead, don't you? Yeah, it's in a book. What he did was he faked his own death so that he could work undercover for the Hong Kong police, infiltrating drugs gangs and the Triads.

Have you watched any Chinese TV Wu Xia shows? The classic Condor heroes, handsome brothers or Dr Yi Ting etc? I got really into them when I started learning Mandarin, but I just watch normal Chinese dramas nowadays

That Scott Adkins one where he is on the set of eastenders and in a prison is really good. Very violent though.

I watched one with Iko Uwais from The Raid called Headshot a few months ago. That was really good, very like a video game in structure with amazing fight scenes.

I came across a mix of the fight scenes of that movie set to the song "When the Bodies Hit the Floor." It got me all sorts of hyped up

Scott Adkins is great and I'll watch pretty much anything he's in. Except this (again).
I've seen the whole film, and even having done so I struggle to make it to the end of this trailer.
