Very sad. Never a huge fan TBH, but great live. No age and all that

Shame about Rancid. Everyone with a passing interest in the genre needs to see Matt Freeman at least once, incredible at slappin the bass

One of the most important gigs for me and my friends at secondary school was Less Than Jake supported by them and Capdown.
Not long after was a gig with Capdown supported by Big D & The Kids Table, Lightyear and Five Knuckle which got everyone into stuff like Household Name Records and discovering more underground and DIY stuff

Bloody love Lightyear. Their first release was a split CD with a friends band called Evil Macaroni. They (Lightyear) stayed round my house after a London show circa 2004, absolute scenes of naked debauchery and we were in shit with our neighbors for weeks afterwards. Had to buy our immediate neighbour flowers and a bottle of wine to make peace. Call of the Weasel Clan is a seninal UK punk record.
Another time they stayed at friend's place after a show in Peterborough and at the post-gig party I witnessed Neil take a shit on a skateboard then get on his knees and "tidy it up" by eating it.

In case you didn’t know LTJ have released a live album of that night.

Stumbled across this whilst browsing youtube.
It's genuinely amazing to listen to. I have to admit I wasn't aware of this gig, sadly, but hearing Rollins describe how it all came together with fanboy glee, then watching the recording of the gig (also on Youtube) was oddly joyful, tinged with sadness, and actually quite moving.
Rollins is a very eloquent orator to say the least.

Remember seeing them with Five Knuckle, Vanilla Pod and Antimaniax fucking years ago. Good times.

The Henry & Heidi Podcast is a great listen but comes out very very sporadically and there’s not been a new one since Covid began

Apparently Smoko is Aussie slang for a smoke break. I realise this now, thanks to two Australian bands using it in their material.

after listening to The Chisel a lot ended up bouncing around some of my old punk and oi stuff, which then lead to some ska albums, and remembered this:
Sometimes get the impression that ska-punk is seen as kind of dirty because some of it was shit, but there was some good stuff in there.
