£55 seems a bit steep no? I have enjoyed it but I wouldn't have paid £55 for it (or most other games to be fair). I am playing on Game Pass. May buy it one day on GOG on a sale though (not sure how console versions compare to PC and I don't have next gen)

I paid £120 for Mario 64 when I was 13. £60 is nothing for a game made by people that want to make it.

Guess I'm liv9ng in the past when games were forty quid except for Steel Batallion.

I've easily got full price value from this.
Know MS have sort of moved away from this but think they should get a Switch version out. Sure it will sell really well.

And finished the story and having a collectibles hoovering up to see if there is anything for 100%. Enjoyed it and the story (and gameplay generally) worked well for me and was a very good follow up to the original. A lot better than I feared it could end up.

I think i am about to start the last mission.
Or maybe not. Many games have gone on further than i expected them too, but it feels end game-y.
A fair bit beyond the 'finish shit up' & 'are you sure you're levelled enough' warnings.

Yeah my story run seemed to go on for a couple hours after the no turning back message as you still have several missions.

And done. Was fun, with some frustrating bits.
Quite clever and we need more gamesike this.
Platformers still not not my thing though, but i managed it.

Finished. Absolutely wonderful from start to finish, only bit I got frustrated with was the cooking boss but the whole section was so good I didn't mind.

I might bin this. Nothing wrong with it. Good characters and generally plays well. I'm just err so bored I guess. There's no challenge and maybe it's just these games aren't for me anymore. My daughter loves it though.

I’ve not had a chance to really spend enough time with it yet (just finished the first proper mission) but the difference between the tutorial and the proper game is so big, they really did themselves a huge disservice with that intro chapter. And it was so long too.

I just got to the part where the game told me to take care of any unfinished business. How many hours should I have left at this point?

After work/life kept me from having a proper play for a couple of weeks I got to do the Festival of the Senses last night. What a beautiful looking level.

Up to Green Needle Gulch and the last few minds like Helmut’s Ford’s, Cassie’s and now Bob’s have been fantastic . I know I said it before but as much as I enjoyed the start this is like a totally different much better game. These levels are wild.

I finished this toward the back end of last week. After a decent but slightly overwhelming first couple of hours with it the middle 15 hours were an absolute joy. The half dozen hours leading into the end for some reason didn't do as much for me - I think it was mainly a pacing thing. Some areas or levels were ten minute jobs, others were an hour, and you were just pinballed between them with no sense of how much was left.
The Festival of Senses was one of the worst for that - you do a thing, and then you do basically the same thing four more times and much as I adored the level, by the end I was ready to strangle the band.
Pacing aside, the main thing that brings it down is the lack of polish common with relatively small teams, with lots of needless snaring on scenery and horribly unreliable walljumps and exiting grinds. Sometimes teeth-gnashingly awful, usually session-ending frustration.
I think I'd pay cash-money for a remix of this game that does a Nintendo level quality pass on the platforming, and strips a good 25% of the length away.
But that's all ignoring the sheer breadth of imagination on show here. I think Double Fine are the mutts nutts, and I really hope the MS bux will take their next few games to the level their talent deserves.
Amazing value for me playing on GamePass, but I think the asking price for this on the other consoles is absolutely worth it if you can swallow the niggles.

It might just be me being bad at it but I’m constantly misjudging jumps and overshooting or falling short of platforms or ledges than all feel totally doable in other locations.

No not just you, it's the game not being particularly readable I reckon. As long as you're doing exactly what the designers *think* you should be doing, jumps are theoretically easy. But I often found myself feeling like I needed a double-jump and overshooting.
Part of what makes it great is that each location is fairly unique and the platforms are always themed to their environment, but I reckon that's what kills our ability to reliably judge jumps.
Thankfully there aren't many places where absolute precision is required, so the punishment is usually just a bit of repetation.

The first seed with the platforms under the swamp water was such a brutal trial and error section for me

I think I’m almost at the end after the point of no return doing Nona’s mind and then some cut scenes and then Nick’s mind and more cut scenes. Switched off for the night at what is either the final boss or another full level of mind stuff with Maligula. Or maybe there’s more to come.

You can still roam the open world after the ending, to talk with characters and stuff, but there's no real point.

I loved going back into the world after completion, tracking down the various characters and talking to them, definitely helps round off the story. I also finished the scavenger, Queepie and Psychoseismometers hunts at this point which was fun to tick off. I guess if you've got those to complete then it is fun, but if you've done those already there's not a lot of point (unless you're aiming for 100% and not got all the figments etc.)
Gotta say I absolutely adored the game. I'm a Psychonerd lover of the original who's been waiting 16 years and spunked $400 on the Fig, I was worried it might not live up to my expectations and hype but I needn't worry, it was the perfect sequel to me, they completely nailed it. So chuffed for Schafer and the DF team.

I’ve still got the scavenger hunt but after than it’d be looking for baggage and figments which I definitely can’t be arsed to 100%
Unless I totally missed it by the time I had a full set of powers the route back to finish the scavenger hunt was closed so I want to get that ticked off.

I absolutely adore the game. Possibly my GOTY. Not sure I'll get 100% as I can never be bothered with collecting everything, when there's so many other games to play.

Same. The baggage and figments are a massive pain to collect, in part because you have to navigate all the levels through that snot-nosed alien. It just takes too damn long: start conversation, select destination, wait for the animation (which you can skip, but skipping it takes seconds regardless), wait for the loading screen, wait for the other animation, and only then can you go through the sublevel with a fine-toothed comb. Except you have no idea if a particular area has any undiscovered collectibles or not so you might be wasting your time. I really enjoyed the game overall but getting a collectible detector as a reward for finishing the game would have been appreciated.

A baggage/figment detector is just the sort of device that would fit right in with the character of the game world too
