Someone wishes for 2003 and they give you Peter Molyneux, seems fitting.

Not going to give Peter any benefit of the doubt but there's potential there.

In its favour at least it's not something you pay for if you have Netflix on the other hand it looks like a shit version of Fall Guys that's mobile only.

Saw this thread and thought it might be related to that short-lived handheld console.

As a relative gaming n00b, Peter Molyneux is something of a mythical figure to me - part creative genius, part bullshit artist nonpareil. I'd almost started to believe that he didn't really exist, and was just a cautionary tale told to aspiring game devs so they wouldn't get too high on their own supply. I think the first time I encountered him was via an interview (RPS, perhaps?): the opening question was something like, "Do you think you're a pathological liar, or--?", and it went downhill from there.
Kind of nuts to see him show up at Keighleyfest 2024 (Part II of III).

Molyneux was always prone to hyperbole but the Bullfrog days were special, that team pulled off some truly revolutionary stuff but as things progressed he started to believe his own bollocks. He's made a lot of great games but you can't trust the bloke.
edit: and Fable III was so fucking disappointing.

Fable 3 was shocking.
But Theme Park was awesome and despite the lies Fable 1 is still one of my favourite games.

Civ VII; Gwendoline Christie as narrator - great! Everything else they've changed? Oh boy, really not sure about this.
edit: forgot rivers, that's in the good column.

Didn’t realise this was on. Have found a stream which I’m now watching not-live starting with a dead pan guy and his cat, I hope I’m watching the right thing.
Belatro still looks awesome and I’ll likely never play it unless I can get a Switch 2. Indie stuff so far, Begone Beast, could be meh could be great, can’t tell. Cairn looked quite good.

Just finished it. A couple of good looking indie horrors, one with the VR headset thing and Reanimal, which I assume is from the Little Nightmares people.
Space Marine obviously.
That Berserker thing was very stylish with a very different graphical style. If it’s yet another impenetrable hard souls type game it won’t be for me though. Can’t tell.
A lot of Japanese games are completely lost on me so large swathes left me cold.
Can’t tell if this mecha Xbox game will be good or not.
Peter Molyneux’s game looked like a Tik Tok Trailer for a bad fake mobile phone game and not a good one either.
Borderlands should excite me but I bounced hard off 3, I could just not get into it after the first 2 were some of the best game experiences ever. Maybe I should revisit them.
Batman in first person could be interesting but part of the fun of the Batman games is seeing him in action isn’t it.
COD will provide a reliable campaign and multiplayer until they start selling Paintball and pop singer skins and I leave again.
There were several COD-alikes that looked drab. The Delta Force thing looked like it maybe, possibly, could be fun.
Overall what a boring show of games.

From what I remember there was one Japanese game in there, Monster Hunter. First Berserker, not to be mistaken for Nexon's other game First Descendant, is Korean (related to ancient online brawler Dungeon and Fighter) and pretty much all of the gacha looking games were Chinese. They pay Geoff good money to get that stuff on there - why else would you think something like that lacklustre looking online Dunc game by Tencent-owned Funcom or that terrible looking Delta Force game, also by Tencent, gets so much coverage across so many of his presentations?
edit: also either someone at Tarsier or Bandai Namco Europe either has a bunch of spare budget or knows Geoff because why the fuck does Little Nightmares show up so often?

Hmmm. Maybe I’ve come across as culturally ignorant there sorry. I’ll change the sentiment to ‘games that remind me of a JPRG type aesthetic’.

Delta Force is getting a lot of really positive feedback from people playing it. There are loads of videos of people playing all of the online stuff on YT.
I also thought The First Berserker looked nice when it was announced a while ago (E3? Maybe earlier) but the recent 20 minute gameplay playthrough looked a bit crap.

I was already at the, "Shut up and take my money!" stage with Monster Hunter Wilds, and yesterday's trailer did nothing to change that; a release date at the end of it would've been nice, but them's the breaks.
I'm expecting MGS Delta to be at Tokyo Game Show next month, so I wasn't too bummed out by its absence at Keighley's shindig.
Kind of underwhelmed by everything else on display - and still very much of the opinion that a one-hour show would've been better for all concerned - but there's some good shit due out in Q4 this year, all the same.

I've been watching a fair amount of stuff from some UK streamers who played a lot of DMZ/Gray Zone (Westie, Stodeh, TacticalBrit) and the Delta Force extraction mode is looking very, very good, not as arcadey as DMZ nor hardcore as Tarkov but a good midpoint and given the lack of extraction shooters on console it should really do very well. The interface will need some tweaking for controllers though as the inventory management is a bit Tetris like at times and that wouldn't work so well without mouse and keyboard.
Add in the two Battlefield cloned modes that are essentially conquest and breakthrough and also factor in it's F2P and the project lead was very specific that P2W isn't in it and I can't see it being anything but a hit.
The Delta Force Black Hawk Down revamp is paid for so if you're only interested in multiplayer you're not forced to buy it.
