Humble has a Corel graphics software bundle that might be worth a look if you want to do any photo editing or art on PC. In particular, the lower tier means you can get Paint Shop Pro 2023 for $1. These days I guess a lot of this stuff is done on phones by most people, or in Photoshop by professionals, but Paint Shop Pro is a decent alternative to Photoshop that has about 85% of the tools, just with a slightly unpolished interface. I have the 2019 version and it's definitely not bad, so it's well worth the $1 to upgrade to 2023 for me. The higher levels have some decent stuff like Painter for about $25, but I doubt I'd ever actually use it. www.humblebundle.com/software/design-with-coreldraw-perfect-with-ai-softwareFor a casual photo editor (as in, you talk me about layers and I'm lost), how would that compare to GIMP? I normally prefer free software when possible, but I do think GIMP has a very real UI problem and could do with a more immediate solution.

the last time i played with paint shop pro would have been about 20 years ago and i remember it being fairly accessible. the last time i played with GIMP was probably 10 years ago and the horror still haunts my dreams
nowadays my editing requirements are only a little more advanced than MS Paint. i really should pick up that humble bundle pack, £0.76

Rebelle is also currently on sale for anyone interested in digital painting that emulates real-world media. Got the pro version the other week and it came to £17.99 by the time taxes etc were added (£14.99 on the storefront). I've not really got round to trying it if I'm honest, but it seemed a good price to try it all out and see how it compares to Artrage. I picked up Corel Painter '19 in a previous Humble Bundle but in typical fashion, never used it.

malek86, minimatt I'm using Paint Shop Pro almost exclusively for some light imaging work and it's very accessible. To be honest, I preferred it back when it was independent and not under Corel's umbrella, but it could just be me being reluctant to change. Especially for that price, you can't go wrong.
