They are a decent substitute for real life friends in the modern age.

I'm a big redletter fan. Currently going through of the best of the worst again for about the 4th time. Just don't seem to get bored of them.

If you like their content (and I do) they have been amazingly consistent over the years, without ever becoming boring.

Mike is obviously the funniest but they'd be screwed without Jay. None of the rest of them have any great knowledge of film or like much outside of Star Trek/Wars.

I like those short scientist man videos, the Terminator 6 one particularly.

I used to really enjoy their game review show, shame they packed it in.

Jack moved to the Escapist. It's not as good as Pre-Rec, but decent.

The Trek/Wars stuff is the only thing I really watch there because I'm not much of a film watcher and I know almost no film they talk about. I love Rich, especially when he's laughing.

I love these guys to the point where I came to host a monthly Bad Movie Night with anything between 10 to 20 people watching hogwash bullshit 80s and 90s schlock action trash. The the attendees now comprise of good friends and professional comedians and it's a booze fueled riot. Good stuff. RLM have stuck gold, and their hatred for it is matched only by ours. Ed: If you plan on anything like this, look no further than Sorceress. It's sublime. Nay, genius and remains a crown jewel in the pantheon of 60 odd torturous pieces of shit we've suffered over the last 5 or so years.

We used to have a best of the worst when we were kids and called it ‘the Saturday shitters’. Our local video shop had the wall of shame that nobody ever rented and hired them out for pence, so we would sleep over at our mates house and watch absolute bullshit all night.
It’s how I’ve seen quite a few of the vids they have featured on there but I am waiting for classics like Rejuvenator, revenge of the radioactive reporter and Lust for Freedom.

For most new movies I'd rather watch these guys doing a review than the actual film itself. I always skip the little skits they do at the start of every video though.

What shall I say, I mean I have no real complaints about them and aside from being quite critical when necessary they also often manage to be quite funny.

I mostly follow them for the gripping romantic drama of Hollywood superstar Rich Evans and his abusive will-they/won't-they relationship with his alcoholic childhood friend Mike.

Absolutely love it, I watch everything they uploaded! I have to say, I don't like it when they get completely battered - as I feel it gets surly and even a bit boring!
I too really liked the gaming stuff; they mentioned it took up a lot of time, which kinda is reassuring to know - I hope it comes back at some stage.
Will they / won't they do a half in the bag on Dune 2021?

I imagine Dune will get a thing, considering Mike will get to talk about sci-fi in it, and Jay will get to talk about David Lynch.

Mike will have made his notes on paper (oh my god) and thought it was visually stunning on the big screen. Jay will flip flop from being it's okay, I thought it was fine/great, and complain that other people didn't like it because it was boooorrring and not a Marvel film.
And then something about an episode of Star Trek.

It's pretty funny how thoroughly jaded they are about Marvel and Star Wars now. Especially considering how central Star Wars was to them becoming popular in the first place, with the Plinkett reviews and such.

Big fan though. Even back to the pre-Youtube days. I think I'm in the minority preferring the re:Views over BotW/HitB. Their commentary tracks over on Bandcamp are worth it too if that's your sort of thing.

Its all good content which I think is how they have managed to transition into being elderly youtubers. Although, like you say, they pre-date youtube from that era when people wanted you to go to their site to watch videos and monetise from the ads on there rather than video pre-rolls so they are probably youtubers through gritted teeth.
I do love a best of the worst, though. I will settle down to watch one of those like a movie.

He doesn't particularly like that style of film so it's understandable he'd put it that low.
