There's loads of good technique on show in this game, but it seems harsh to make women play on full-sized pitches with full-sized goals. Honestly think it'd be a better watch if the pitch and goal were like 20% smaller.

Goals, maybe, pitch, not so much imo.

Yeah not sure there are any issues with the pitch. And it’s not like goals are flying in. Then again I hardly watch any womens football so maybe it’s an issue.

I've long believed in just having slightly altered pitches and goals for women, along with purpose built stadiums for them that can proper cater to making the sport as entertaining as it can be.
But that's a conversation for another time.

How can their dainty little legs cope?

I'm not a big follower of the women's game (hell, I don't really watch football apart from Liverpool) so I'm absolutely at risk of making snap judgements but it's interesting to me that there aren't many big switches or long passes. Could be tactical but, when someone does go for one, they lack the power and fizz you see in the men's game. And generally the play seems to take place in a much smaller area of the pitch although again, it could be tactical.
Either way, a smaller pitch would suit the game I reckon.

Kids play on full size pitches from under-11 onwards. Why would women need smaller pitches/goals?

Can't say I've noticed that particularly today. Wembley has always been a big pitch that even the burly men struggle with in the latter stages of games.

How can their dainty little legs cope? It was more an idle musing about what I think would suit the game from someone largely disinterested. It just doesn't seem as fast or as explosive as the men's game and I wonder whether some of that would be helped with a slightly smaller pitch. But it's almost certainly not fair to compare this game to watching Liverpool every week.

The football's been excellent in what I've seen of the tournament. Absolutely no need to mess about with different pitches or stadiums.

The football's been excellent in what I've seen of the tournament. I will absolutely defer to the judgement of those who've watched more than this one (1) match.

This game has been a bit scrappy but it's a final. Just like most men's finals.

Oh God, this is going to go to penalties for sure now, isn’t it? And we all know what happens then. Still what better way to demonstrate parity with the men’s game?

Tbf even in my local non league, they'd be better off with shorter pitches of a better standard as after 70 minutes it's usually whoever's got enough left in the tank to get on the end of a long ball wins. I don't want to see something as short as a basketball court but I think one size fits all is a bit daft, really.
Though, yes, the standard in this tournament has been good and more technical than it's been for a while.
Anyway, we'll lose this on penalties.

This is a far higher standard of professional football than local non league level.

How can their dainty little legs cope? If it was big enough for Scholesy and his little legs, it's big enough for women

I'd keep the same stadia and just paint different lines on the grass myself. Spurs' ground hosts NFL games so it's entirely possible.
I hope it goes without saying that I'm pleased the women's game has grown significantly in prominence and that I'd like to see it continue to grow. It's not in direct competition with the men's game and I wonder if that means it can carve its own niche by being slightly different, but without sacrificing quality. I feel like that'd make it a better product for my enjoyment but obviously your mileage may vary and if you like it how it is then I'm happy for you.
