I quite liked Alien 3. Not as good as the first two, but still better than everything that followed it imho. Probably one for the unpopular opinions thread... Oh yeah, it's a hill I'll die on, and a generally unpopular one. Alien 3 is decent, but Brian Glover as not Mr Tetley did take a while to get past

I keep seeing Paddington/2 on lists or mentioned elsewhere. Are they genuinely good?

Yes. Helps if you like kids films mind you.

My favourites are obvious, LOTR, Star Wars, Indy etc..
A film I do love though is 'Before Sunrise.' Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy walk around Paris talking. Nothing else happens but it's such a lovely movie.

I couldn't believe they included the scene where Hugh Bonneville degloved Paddington's dick

I'd rate the "Before..." trilogy over the Star Wars trilogy. I think I said this elsewhere but I wouldn't be surprised if they had a stab at a 4th one in a few years time.

I'd rate the "Before..." trilogy over the Star Wars trilogy. That's a bold statement to make, both series laid down the framework for SF/fantasy blockbusters for decades afterwards.

If we still had the proper original Star Wars trilogy, without all the stupid changes, then I'd probably give Star Wars the edge. As it is the Before trilogy has none of those issues so it's better.

I had to turn Before Sunrise off because it made me want to kick my telly to death.

I had to turn Before Sunrise off because it made me want to kick my telly to death. It's commonly known as the Ethan Hawke Effect.

Koyaanisqatsi
Blew my mind, I watch it and the sequels every couple of years. Baraka and Samsara are a good shout too.

Will have to check that out, sounds right up my street.
Not really the same thing, but I quite enjoyed The Fall as a nice visual spectacle.

Yeah The Fall actually has a plot to it, but really you watch it for the visuals. Absolutely stunning, and little if any CGI involved.

Reminds me, time to introduce my daughter to Baraka
And The Fall; what a movie. Shame Lee Pace never got to star in a big movie…

Tarsem poaches several shots from Baraka for The Fall. Watch them back to back.
