very questionable. Fairly sure that AMDs own documentation suggest only enabling FG if you're already at 60. Upscaling & FG to get to 1080p60 medium settings is hot garbage. It's clearly going to be CPU heavy again (like dogma) which is why it's requiring FG.

But those CPU specs for recommended aren't particularly high.

True but it probably sits around the average and they're very comparable to the console CPUs. Very likely this is only 30 on console then

Kinda needs to be, JP players are much more console centric and that's where the series made its mark for almost 20 years before it made a real impact on this side. Capcom aren't about to upset those fans and I wouldn't want them to.

Apparently the binoculars will now show you if the monster you're looking at is crown sized. How cool is that!!

What's the 'right' way to play these games:
a) Farm the first monster until you can make its associated weapon and armour set, then move on; or
b) Wait until you hit a wall before doing some farming and forging?

C: focus on a weapon I am nowhere near getting above everything else and just destroy everything through sheer god damned will and annoyance to get there.

Whichever you way you find most fun, my friend. And, my honest answer is something like 75% b, 25% a You tend to start with armour and weapons based on basic bones and ore, and maybe 4 large monsters for the 1* quests. I think I would look at what the weapons and armour in 1* offer and if there's something interesting then target that (option a). Otherwise, go option b into 2* quests and see what the new monsters then offer. Then get online with brokenkey and listed to him explain why I missed something in one of the 1* monsters and go back and farm it!

So the wife was on the telly last night and I fired up MH Rise on me switch. I’ve had it yonks and only very briefly played it before.
Help. I have no idea what’s going on.

I'm far from an expert, but I believe the basic gameplay loop goes a little something like this:
- Kill the first monster. - Harvest its organs. - Use said organs to make a better weapon and/or some better armour. - If you need more parts for crafting purposes, kill it again. (And again. And--)
- Move on to the second monster whenever you feel ready. - Repeat until the credits roll.

By first monster you mean just the one at top of the list of jobs? Do they get harder as you move further down the list? Finding combat very tricky as well. What do all these animal chaps do that I've got with me.

Do the village 1* quests first. i.e. the quest girl outside. The difficulty increases as the rank of the quests increases. Within 1* or 2* they are much the same.

Your palico (the cat) and palamute (the dog) will help you out on the quest. You can ride on the dog to get around faster.

In combat take a little time to watch the tells from the monster. When is about to attack there is usually a winding up animation where you know you need to block or dodge. If blocking and then poking appeals then try using lance.

Is the one behind the counter in that hub area for multiplayer missions? You can do those solo as well, but the story ones that are meant for 1 player are from the woman outside.

Yep, the 'village' missions are easier than the hub missions. Village are single player only, hub is where you can team up or go solo. If you team up with someone then you can only take your palico OR palamute. (I think, it's been a while)
