I'm at the stage of trying my first set of MR armour. Just fought Pukei and he was hitting a bit too hard. I've gne for Hermitaur helm, Orangaten mail, Arzuros gloves, Bone coil, and Ludroth legs. Gets me Quick Sheath 3 for LS, Recovery Speed 3, Focus 2, Power prolonger 2 plus some others. Next up is to work through the decoration options. Sometimes sorting out your armour takes longer than the hunting!!  |

Slowly making my way through MR2 and I saved Rathian till last.
I think she is my favourite MH monster. Possibly because I've been hunting her for so many years that I know her moveset the best.
Getting to grips with the new LS moves as well.
Very much enjoying Sunbreak so far.

I've found MR4 is where the difficulty really picks up. Espinas was a bit of a shit for me, people seem to have a lot of trouble with seregios as well.

I joined a seregios hunt last night while I was farming for the lens and we had all 3 lives left when I joined, took a semi-long route to where the other 3 were fighting it to grab permabuffers on the way and all 3 carted within about 10 seconds of each other lol.

Hit my first minor hurdle against Shogun Ceanataur.
So I crafted a new lance and just hid behind it, poking him.
I still fainted 'cos I didn't pay enough attention to the timing of his attacks, but it worked in the end.
We really ought to sort out some group hunting.

Still plodding through MR3
Ragna Kadachi (sp?) was fun with LS.
Narcacuga is fast as fuck and I was fighting a huge one so it's bloody tail was catching me every time!
Goss Harag seems more aggressive than I remember.
Failed the Magnamalo hunt last night - more lance practice required.

MR Magno is brutal.
I've put this to one side the past few weeks, MR20. It isn't quite gripping me but hopefully the Aug update will freshen it up some with the armour customisation

Is it better to have slightly higher attack or the next band up of sharpness?
I'm currently sporting the Great Anteka Blade+ LS which with skill buffs has attack of 315, 30% affinity with a sliver of white sharpness.
I could upgrade the Hornetaur LS. It only has, I think, 282 attack, 35% affinity, but there's a chunk of purple sharpness.
Edit, I did upgrade the Hornetaur LS so those stats above are with my buffs.

Next band of sharpness is generally more powerful, but if you only have a few hits of purple you will have to make sacrifices to squeeze in prot polish+grinder.
Ive noticed Hornetaur is a really popular choice to take with you to endgame as well, so it's probably the meta in that sense

Just stick para on your pooch. You get a silkbind weapon for them that stacks status like mad from one of the sidequests.
