I think the P-organ tree opens up further for each two abilities you unlock, regardless of which phase those abilities sit at, so you could in theory open it up quicker by concentrating on all the 2 quartz abilities initially. Which aren't as good of course.
Quite a bit of quartz in the later stages, some bad asses roaming around.

I think I'm going to fuck it and check a quartz guide. I've opened three trinity rooms so far (up to the swamp...chapter 8?). Not all had quartz, though. I've done all mini-bosses, I think - except for the two Puppets of the Future in the swamp area; I'm intending to go back for them. Quests I'll need to check. I think I've done 3 or 4 side quests. Puppet baby, some wine, one, perhaps two others I cant't recall right now. Well, that's two quartzes right there; just deal with the bombing first, if you haven't already... I used the bomber to take out the puppets faster - each direct hit deals 1k+ damage to them! They're really easy by themselves anyway.

I find phase 3 P-Organ stuff to be underwhelming so far. I dont see much use in just another consumable to be added or a new belt slot. Prob cause I'm not using items that much anyway I guess. But between those and phase 1 which has an added pulse cell use, I know what I'm going for.

New belt slot is a godsend if you're leaning on throwables in combat fwiw (no need to have an Advance build for that, either)

Cheers, I did get the bomber...last question: does this mean he doesn't respawn, or do you need to do him first each time? No, once dead he stays dead!

Did you bait the bomber attack standing next to the puppets and hoped for the best or did I miss something?

Yep, bait the attack by running around by their feet and getting out of the way as soon as you hear the cannon has been fired.
Best to clear out the small puppets first, and stay up on areas clear of the decay.

Ooooh King of Puppets...had him down to a slither of health twice, but not down yet. First phase I'm getting through quickly, and now am just cheesing the second phase with throwables to get him down to his last bit of health. Just needing to evade better and I'll get this fucker. Good challenge though.

mikeck If you have it, put in the wishstone box the stone that recharges your summon's health, so you can keep him alive longer and take some heat off you during the 2nd phase.

I tried that at first and couldn't get him down to half health in the second phase, but I've recently been trying the electric wishstone as that helps get the first phase down in no time and more time with the specter helping in phase 2. The current strategy I've been using (that's got me closest) has been: Phase 1 - immediately use electric wishstone and then electric grindstone for me - whittle boss down as quickly as possible retaining as many pulse charges as possible Phase 2 - spam the fuck out of throwables, and then use Falcon Eyes until dead - I've got to a slither of boss health, just ran out of things to chuck Tonight I am going to grind the fuck out of ergo, then buy a mega shit tonne of throwables and then try again.

Nice one, even whiffed a few throwables too and took him down!

JonFEGreat job on the second phase there. I thought going into it with only three pulse charges would be tough but you did the sensible thing and saved the throwables for the end. mikeck I spent a good couple of hours in total doing a loop of going to the Red Lobster, clearing out the main room repeatedly and then buying throwables - usually about 6-12 each of the main ones (electricity, fire, acid) before going back to him. Fail a couple of times then repeat. Easily the boss I spent most time on for that reason!

As JuniorFE can attest, what I lack in skills when it comes to soulslike games (and I *do* lack a lot), I make up with pure persistence and perseverance (a.k.a. banging my head against a wall). For instance, last night I came this -> <- close to beating the final-final boss after countless tries, respeccing, farming ergo for levels and throwables, etc. but the prick escaped me; trust me, his days are numbered

Re. ergo farming, what's everyone's preference? I'm still enjoying giving the two big fellas and the nearby mobs in Lorenzini's arcade a good thrusting with the Salamander. Red Lobster is a good option too, given how close the vendor is.

The Door Guardian is my new nemesis. I've specced all the way into motility so my weapons are quite slow and/or short, so with the added Shock buildup he applies I'm like a wheezy geriatric and can't get out of the way.

Trowel 🏴 It depends on where you are at the game I suppose. Initially I've learned the route around Red Lobster almost by heart to farm for throwables and at some point I settled on beating just the hug straight ahead from the stargazer and the big guy inside along with whoever got in the way for about 2k. However, now that I'm at the end boss, I farm extensively at Arche Abbey Broken Rift watching some big bullies beat each other up
tonyferrino He was certainly a PITA; such a huge relief when he fell on his kneels...
EDIT: BTW, I don't know if it's a bug or by design but my last 15 or so level-ups cost me just 1 ergo more than the previous ones. For example, if I give 15999 ergo for a level up, the next level costs just 16000; very generous of them I must admit

Oh, I read about that yesterday - seems to be by design for a while, then after a while it starts ramping up the cost per level again.

Minor hint: Iron Golem his arse (Dark Souls players will know) Outright solution: Keep smacking its right leg (left from your perspective as he's facing you). It'll eventually drop face down on the floor for a Fatal Attack that'll take out roughly half its health bar. Do it again, then finish off whatever's left.

Lorenzini's arcade seems like a good call though.

Could you respec for the fight, and at least partially upgrade a new weapon (you've probably got a tonne of basic upgrade material)? That seems like a massive pain but it may be preferable in the long run.

(Or maybe you live in a very different time zone, I don't actually know) Greece is 2 hours ahead of UK, I finished him around 4:00 am, which would be around 2:00 am for you guys!
As for whether it was worth it, well, yeaaaah, he was doing my head in and I got really close a couple of times, so sleep was not an option!!!
EDIT: The final-final boss is kind of optional, necessary only for the "better" endings, if you do suffer with him (possible, I ain't gonna lie) you may skip him entirely...

That seems like a massive pain but it may be preferable in the long run. The Door Guarding needs all the available stamina (put on as many stamina-related amulets and P-organs as you can), patience and consistency in hitting his unprotected leg enough times so that he falls over. Unfortunately bombs don't seem to knock him over, so just get in, stay close, parry if possible and hit him as hard as you can, over and over again...

Τυχεράκια! (Sorry, I'm literally the only member of my family who doesn't speak any Greek, both my sons and my wife have had lessons for several years...learning Hungarian is enough for me for now). Just an hour ahead of us, then. Still, impressive, I can barely stay up beyond 23.00 nowadays Also, sounds like I may skip that optional final boss, ending be damned...
