Unbelievable stuff, he came out after the break like a man possessed... we're all likely witnessing the start of something ridiculous here, I guess we'll only know in hindsight but it should be a fun ride! How many of Taylor's long list of records does he take down in his career?

Really enjoyed this season. Various swings in form over the last 4 months. Was a shame that aspinel missed out after being so good for so many weeks.
Tonight littler was a ruthless after the break. Well played

How many of Taylor's long list of records does he take down in his career? Honestly - none, and that isn't an indictment on Littler. Phil Taylor was an alien sent down to earth with the sole purpose of playing darts. He was hitting the averages these guys do today back when dartboards still had thick wires and staples. If he even gets half of Taylor's 16 World Titles and 16 World Matchplays then he's done remarkably well.

I always think of Phil on New Year's, with his routine of trying to throw two consecutive 180s as soon as the clock struck midnight, just to be the first do it that year.
That's the sort of winner's mentality that'll be needed to get close to his records, and we'll have to wait years to find out if Luke has anything like it.

I hit a 160 yesterday. T20, Bull, Bull. I was going for T20s though so it was a complete fluke.

When I started a new job a few years back we got onto the subject of darts, and I was proudly talking about the two times I've hit a 180, when one of the other guys mentioned he'd hit his first 180 at the age of 7. Wow, playing so young we said? Yeah, he said, my dad used to be world champion... He was Dennis Priestley's son!

I hit a 160 yesterday. T20, Bull, Bull. I was going for T20s though so it was a complete fluke. Similar thing happened to me the other day... I hit my first 162 (3 x treble 18s), but my first was at treble 20 so I decided to just follow it in I did however succesfully hit my first ever 171 (3 x treble 19s) recently practicing my cover shots, I was dead chuffed. With 180s, I hit enough now to not bother taking a photo of each one, which I think is a decent sign of progression!!
I used to play a fair bit in my childhood/teens and up until my early 20s when I had board still up in my room when still living with my parents. When I moved out and me and the missus got our first place together 20 years ago that was that for me, never put a board up in any place since, until this past Jan when our boy started taking an interest due to Littler and asked if we could get a board. I'd forgotten just how amazing it is to have a board up in your own house, one of the most relaxing and fun hobbies to be able to just go and throw a few arrows whenever you like

I haven't got anywhere for a board at the moment. Resorted to putting one up outside a few years ago but it's not the same.

We had one of those plastic autoscore voiced ones in the office a fair few years back. Naturally we got fuck all done so it had to go.
Was amazing.

I was quite handy in my teens and 20's. Beat a few pros in local opens over the years (Stephen Bunting when he was in the BDO, Wes Newton, Chizzy)
Hit a few 9 darters practicing when I was really into it. That's a surreal feeling. There was a time I could have probably given an honest go of scraping onto the tour if I'd had the money for it at the time.
I'm fucking useless now. I got beat by a guy at the work Xmas do last year who had barely ever thrown a dart before like some sort of boxer who has had about 10 fights too many and started losing to YouTubers.

This is great, but I realise how little money is in the game if you are scrapping around the tour. Unless you win the majors, it seems like it would be hard to make a living out of it.

Anyone outside the top 16 probably doesn't have a particularly glamorous life. Outside around the top 32 and it's pretty much hand to mouth. Some managers take up to 50% of prize money as well. You get your travel/hotels sorted but you're not going to be building much of a nest egg. It's why a lot of them do exhibitions long after they've retired from the pro circuit.

I've been loving watching the European Tour highlights on the PDC's youtube channel, I'm not a player myself but it's such a fantastic spectator sport, and it's brilliant to see how popular it's become right across the continent. Just caught Littler's latest win in Poland, amazing.

We win the World Cup of Darts and nobody gives a shit, come on guys... Bully Boy and Cool Hand showing what you're supposed to do when you enter a tournament as favourites, wipe the floor with everyone you face! Proper dream team, darting galacticos. Was especially awesome as it was on straight after the footy and in Germany as well

Yeah it's the two highest ranked from each country. Unless someone withdraws like Price did for Wales.
Glad the Belgians didn't win above all else. What a pair of tits those two are.

Humphries was practically unplayable. Like they said, Austria needed 9-darters to break throw. Incredible.

Humphries was practically unplayable. Like they said, Austria needed 9-darters to break throw. Incredible. Yep ridiculous, 4 x 100+ checkouts from Humphries in the final I think it was? And along with those, a 2 x double 18 checkout just for fun. Outstanding darts.
