The first one looks really cool - shame it's not third person though
Something about the movement in the second one looks really off (and not just the weird animations). Looks too light and quick for survival horror

Anyone posted about Selaco yet? Retro FPS shooter made in GZDoom EngineLooks pretty sick, one of the more visually impressive retro FPS games I've seen clips of.

Just installed it now, less than a minute to download which was nice.
Thoroughly enjoyable, quite funny in writing and visual gags.
One bit of oddness, in the video settings, all the resolutions are listed width x height, rather than the traditional height x width, so I am currently set at 1440x2560 which you would think would be portrait style...

Lol. I find that so weird that this is a regular trend.

Is it? (Genuine question!) I know the retail editions of Fortnite are always discless - and I can't help but smile ruefully at the irate customer reviews on Amazon, all parroting some variation of the exact same thing: "I bought this for Xmas and my grandson was DEVASTATED!" - but I hadn't realised it was a trend outside of this one specific example.
Still weird, either way.

Phantom Blade Zero looking quite tasty indeed. Think Sekiro with its parry mechanics but speed up the action to resemble Wuxia martial art movies.

It does look quite Sekiro/Wo Long-esque, which appeals to me immensely; still, I'm going to maintain my current ass temps until the finished product comes along. (I learned that lesson after getting overenthusiastic about Stellar Blade.)

The amount of switch games which are a code in the box on my shelf is irritating. I really should just rid of them but I don't know how.

New Life is Strange will have rip-off deluxe edition 2 week early access to first 2 episodes.
That’s some A Grade bullshit right there!
Maybe intended irony for a game featuring multiple timelines but I doubt it!

An IGN preview of Phantom Blade:
Not a bad article, although I found parts of it a little odd - for instance, the writer opens by saying that
before going on to say that
I mean, From made Sekiro as well (and Bloodborne before it), so they're no strangers to games that "reward a hyper-aggressive playstyle."
But hey, whatever.

I'm not sure I would call Sekiro aggressive in the way that Bloodborne is tbh. You do have to press the enemies to keep their posture teetering, but if you go in all "fuck it, we ball" the way you would on 'Borne/Nioh (since IGN mentioned Ninja Gaiden), far as I remember you'll probably get your prosthetic shoved into places it shouldn't be...
It's more fast-paced than your typical Souls, certainly, but much more tactical than the Team Ninja end of the scale IMO.

This looks like a delight This feels like its the sort of game you’d have got from someone programming in the micro computer era if they had access to modern resources, which I’m very much in favour of. And its got one of the members of The Delightful Sausage on it which makes a lot of sense. I strongly recommend watching their stand-up/sketch show Ginster’s Paradise on youtube.

I'd put them about on par with one another, but in different ways.
Deflecting is usually a defensive move rather than an offensive one, but in Sekiro the role it plays is borderline offensive (in terms of the posture damage caused by perfect deflections); in that sense, both hits and parries encourage you to stay on top of your enemy at all times.
Bloodborne encourages you to press the offensive rather than backing off to heal, via the rally mechanic and the fact that your supply of healing items doesn't replenish in full each time you rest.
In that sense, both games feel aggressive (although I'd agree that Bloodborne has the edge in this regard, especially if you don't see deflects in Sekiro as offensive manoeuvres in the way I describe!).

It's also a bit of a moot point regarding Phantom Blade Zero because devs have stressed it's not a Soulslike. There may be some resemblance in level design but there's no respawning enemies on resting at checkpoints, it prioritises combo driven gameplay and there's difficulty levels. Bit like the PS2 action games of old.

For anyone familiar the Tomb Raider remasters, do your lions (in the first game) have weird white eyes? It looks like a texture hasn't loaded but could just be a visual style choice. They look possessed though
