There is certainly a sequence of missions that lead you into and through the game. Don’t go expecting a narrative masterpiece.

Forspoken a 2 year PS5 exclusive.... and they have the nerve to go on about anti consumer.

Didn't we have a hitman thread?
Anyways it seems that the new Freelancer game mode is getting more footage. Think of Freelancer as Hitman: Rouguelike where it RNGs the campaign for you to work your way through.
I'm kinda getting an itch to hit some men ...

After they were both mentioned in different threads here, I thought I'd load up Max Payne 3 and Deus Ex Human Revolution - Directors Cut again.
Good first -
Max Payne 3 holds up very well. Haven't touched it on my current pc, and upscaled it looks amazing and runs very smooth. There's so many visual details, and doesn't look like a 10 year old game. The gameplay is still fun. The physicallity of Max has he dives into scenery gives it a very solid feel. And the writing is still great, Max's monologues are wonderful. I can imagine replaying the full game.
But the bad -
Deus EX HR doesn't hold up as well. Even though my PC is decent it still lags in places, managed to find a fix that minimizes it, but it's still present. And graphically it seems off, like it doesn't look how I remember. After some digging it turns out it literally doesn't look the same, as the directors cut version I have removed the yellow filter and has worse bloom effects, as well as some literally worse textures in places. I suspect that the PC directors cut is actually a port of the Wii-U directors cut (as that where the dc first appeared).
So it's crap.

I think I remember they removed the yellow filter because there were complaints at the time of it being a "yellow piss filter." I agree though, I thought the original look was more interesting.

I think Human Revolution looks a lot more interesting than Mankind Divided - the latter is prettier, as you'd expect, but it's also generic-looking.

I liked the yellow filter, but wouldn't miss it too much by itself, however the change to bloom and lighting looks noticably worse in my opinion, the game looks far too sterile and dead. The change to some textures is also for the worse. This was an interesting read. Might try and mod the game to make it look okay. cookieplmonster.github.io/2020/04/26/dxhr-dc-gold-filter/I was considering getting a cheap CD ROM of the non-dc version off ebay, but then remembered I don't have an optical drive anymore. Glorious digital future my arse.

I played the demo of ‘The Case of the Golden Idol’ on Steam found it great. You could call it a detective em up. It also creeped me out a bit.

Evil West looks fun. I hadn't really paid it any attention cause I assumed it'd be a tactical game like Weird West or Desperados (or at least an isometric RPG), but it seems like it's more of a 360 era third person action game. God of War reboot, Shadows of the Damned, Warhammer Space Marine, that type of thing. In a Van Helsing meets Wild Wild West setting.
Anyone playing it?

I keep swithering over buying Evil West, looks like a lot of fun with some heft to the combat. Just seems a little pricey and the fact that the current gen consoles are running it at 1080 - 60fps in performance mode leaves a bit of a bad taste for what is supposedly quite a short game. But I was really looking forward to shooting some undead varmints so will see how long my resolve lasts.

12 years ago Kinect gave us this True story: I'm probably the only person in the world who still has a 360 Kinect connected and set up. I gave up on the X1 Kinect as soon as Microsoft made it optional, and when I did, and realized that all that extra space over the TV was gonna feel empty, I set up the old camera again instead. It's nice to have around. A bit of Dance Central, a few games in Fruit Ninja, and maybe even some Child of Eden when I feel like it. Can't believe this console is 17 years old. Shame my disc drive doesn't work anymore, so I'm stuck with downloadable games. I'd really like to play Fantasia again.

Is Crypt of the NecroDancer any good? It's alright but I much prefer Cadence of Hyrule which uses a lot of the ideas from 'crypt' but in the Zelda setting. One of my favourite games on Switch.

pierrepressureThanks, but unfortunately for me, I don't have a Switch. Is NecroDancer playable if you were born with an Elaine Benes-esque lack of rhythm?

I do bring it out every now and then). If I find an Xbox One Kinect at a decent price I'll grab it and hook it up to my One X

I think I’m right in saying that it’s Kinect that the Harry Potter Studios tour uses to do the “become Dobby” bit.
Also, I’m sure I heard that the NHS still uses it for something.

The good ones were all on 360, and the backward compatible ones won't work with it. The only one that might be worth it is Fantasia, but getting another X1 Kinect for that alone is a big ask. I think I got rid of mine.

For some reason, Marvel Snap is the one that stands out most to me. I've not played it. I'm sure it's addictive. But it's just Marvel's Hearthstone, right?
I gotta try Pentiment. Once I finish The Outer Worlds.

Anybody play the console versions of the Divinity Original Sin games? I’m not a big fan of mouse and keyboard controls, but that said these are originally PC titles (unlike Divinity 2 which was made with the 360 in mind). The Source Saga bundle which includes both Original Sins is currently on sale on Xbox under the Deals With Gold category. II by itself is also on sale on PSN, although if you can get both for a little more, might as well.
