Reddit has had shitloads of it over the last week. Can't say how much has been elsewhere as I block most of it.

Think Twitch has been full of ads as well.
The dynamic theme is pretty nice.

I have seen a single advert on Reddit. I also saw the Digital Foundry video last month. Where are the previews? Where is the hype? Even Redfall was more visible than this and at this point in its pre-release folk were at least talking about it (about how rubbish it looked). Nobody is talking about this.

Maybe it's targeted on Reddit and doesn't make it as far as the kinky corners you inhabit over there Dave, or should I call you kinkyboots69 as you are known on there.

They didn't need to advertise this to me at all. Been eagerly awaiting this since it was announced. In fact, I bought an XBOX Series X and went all in on Game Pass when I learned MS had bought out Ninja Theory guaranteeing Game Pass access on day 1.

Can it be preloaded? I tried yesterday but all I got was a 10MB stub. Makes you wonder what's even the point.

I block all ads and I've never seen ads for Hellblade. It's weird.

You'd still expect youtubers to be putting impression videos up by now and that sort of thing.
Review embargo is an hour before release, so no chance for reviews to build up a bit of hype.

Yeah, I normally get a good sense for a game coming out from previews and such across various sites in the weeks leading up to release. Would be interesting to understand if Hb2 has actually had a different marketing strategy.

It might just be shit and they are leaving it to the last minute to disappoint us all.

Depends. One way to avoid spoilers plus maybe taking the Bethesda approach?

Depends. One way to avoid spoilers plus maybe taking the Bethesda approach? A good review doesn't need to spoil the game and many reviews have had strict embargoes not to spoil a story so I don't buy that argument. It's their prerogative as the publisher obviously but from an outside perspective it never comes across as positively when a publisher does this. I can't think of a situation where MS have done this, Bethesda yes but they're autonomous, but an MS published game nah.

Didn't Halo Infinite have a similar embargo?

I predict an 8/10
It is the first game on XB since Starfield though that has made me want to upgrade from my S to an X.
/waits patiently for the 2nd Gen X to release with the Dualsense competing new gamepad

Reviews are coming in thick and fast - currently on 81 at Metacritic after 30+ reviews. Common thread seems to be it's very much like the first one - a lot of style and thin on substance. Typical for Ninja Theory, was hoping for more this time around

Interesting mix of 10/10's to 5/10's albeit the majority are in the positive. I'm guessing because it's more of a niche type of game it lands better with some people than others?

I imagine the original game's gameplay of walking, icon puzzle and then one on one combat hasn't been mixed up that much which probably explains some of the lower scores.
