Way better than Sekiro.

If they ever remake it in 25 years time they should put wunty in as an NPC in recognition of his devotion to this ‘slightly ugly sister’ of a sequel

I'd be a fucking brilliant NPC. Basically an angry Scottish Patches.

You will be that kind of NPC that will attack the player randomly, but without being provoked

But once you respawn I'll be quite pleasant, forgetting I've ever attacked you in the first place.

Ooooh tough one. Dual wield handmaid ladles I think. And be in nothing but my pants.

I know I'm probably outing myself as a bit of a freak, but having finally played this last year I..... really like Dark Souls 2. I think it may even be one of my favourite Souls games, that's how much I enjoyed it.

Probably more than most of their library.

I hated it when I was playing, but now I look back at it very fondly. I’m missing very few trophies for the plat, too, it’s a shame they’re so much work.

DS2 is a lot of good ideas that don't stick around for long enough and a lot of bad ideas that stick around for too long. Probably the most replayable one of the lot though.

As much as I like to rile Wunty up, Majula is probably my favourite hub world in the series.

Weirdo card handed in, loved 2, spent most of my time helping people get through the windmill area, jolly cooperation and all that, but was enjoyable enough to complete it. Only for the real Souls aficionado it seems

Haha, well in fairness you have waxed lyrical about Dark Souls 2 for many a year wunty and at least in my book you were right, I had a great time. At least there's some vindication for your dedication to DS2 in having your name attached to the thread title on this here glorious new forum 😁.

Ha ha. It is genuinely the most fun to play. It has faults that can't be overlooked but there's so much that's good in there...

I liked Scholar of the First Sin at the time. Tried playing it again last year though and it hasn't aged fantastically. It's got that kind of weird console-generation-transition jankiness to it, even on PC.

I wonder if the assets for the original DS2 are still hanging around? Would make for a brilliant remaster job if they are. I'm definitely tied between the first two, DS1 has a better realised world, but when DS2 is good I think it surpasses the original. Don't like how they changed my Zweihander stance though.

You're almost right. DS2 is vastly superior in every way to the first game From used as practice. I did a dual wielding Zweihander run and it was stupendous. I doubt we'll ever see anyone do anything with DS2, except modders on PC
We need some people to start DS2 so this thread becomes more active like the Sekiro and Bloodborne ones
I don't know what it's like in DS1, but I looove the one-handed R2>R2 zweihander attack in DS2. The timing of it just feels so satisfying, especially if it kills
