I dropped off it for a bit to play other things and have just started hopping back on. I had/am having a bit of a character crisis so I can play most of the cast to high plat/low diamond level but that’s it. Still haven’t settled properly on someone. I was hoping AKI would be the magic bullet but she kinda sucked. My aim is the same as yours, finally pick someone and actually start doing ranked. Hey man, if BattleHub is what you’re enjoying then there’s no reason to leave. I do enjoy that mode sometimes if I want to just sit down and chill out. And it’s actually the real arcade experience where you don’t know if the next guy is going to be a killer or if it’s their first game! |

I played an hour or so a few days ago and literally everyone in there was a master. It was very obvious who was master purely through the grind, tho. I took a few games off a master Ken with my day one Lilly but got absolutely mauled by a DJ when I switched to Marisa for a bit.

Managed to grind my way to Diamond 3 last night with Guile. Onward to Master!
I did buy his (average) 3rd costume but man, 300 coins per costume and no bundle is on the one hand brutal but on the other much cheaper than most gaas titles so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I do have change from AKI so one 250 coin pack would do but fuck that. If the whole pack had been like 20-30 quid I probably would have gone for it but I’m not down for being nickel and dimed in a 70 quid game. I might have even picked a couple up if they had been a round 250 but 300 is gross. Premium currency should be banned.
I might just turn off premium costumes out of spite.

I think the price of individual costumes is pretty much fine, but no discount if you want to buy them all (if you’re a tournament organiser for example) is pretty bad.

It would be more bearable if they were 250. But, regardless, I just got a cheeky hour or two in the battlehub trying to learn Lily and didn’t come across a single person wearing outfit 3, so it doesn’t look like they are exactly flying off the shelves.
I did catch a few people with the 2D graphic stuff, tho

Been very tempted to grab this in the current PSN sale, as I have a tenner credit also. Haven’t played SF properly since SF2 on the SNES, but fancy learning this year.

I didn’t like his design in the last one and his theme was terrible and this is no better. Just a really ugly Street Tough aesthetic and yet another dreadful haircut. He better play well because this is sub-Luke, for me, and I hate Luke with a passion.
What is going on in Japan that is making them think white guys now all have hair like middle aged women?

Yeah I don’t love his character design in general, and I also don’t like this costume very much - but it has been the case a few times in sf6 where I’ve initially not liked a character and grown to appreciate them (Manon mainly) so we’ll see. I think for most of the cast they’ve knocked it out the park in terms of “battle design” so I’m excited to see what they’ve done with the hitler youth, and whether EndingWalker will take him on.
With AKI and Rashid they had a battle pass leading up to their release, so if Capcom follow that schedule I think it means he will be released just after Capcom Cup - and then maybe Akuma after that…?

I hope so. I have dropped off a bit because the chars I want to play are a bit of a struggle and I’m sick of playing against the same two. It needs a freshen up.
I’m don’t even really want the others nerfed, it’s just that the top tier have everything for no real reason so the bottom, mostly more interesting half of the roster feel almost pointlessly gimped.

I think/hope they realised that even if it came out as balanced as thanos’s penknife, it needed retouching just to freshen it up, especially with the dearth of content and the backlash at how shit and expensive the DLC has been.

I really like how it looks like he plays. He looks very cool apart from the thought of another character with sway giving me nightmares. Full Steve Fox.
Hate the vibes, though. Ugly design and boring, aggro characterisation.
We used to get Necro and Q and now we get generic nobodies like Luke and Ed.
