Jamie XX a bit more up-tempo than Dua Lipa

Not a fan of her stuff but I thought I'd turn it on but the audio levels seem terrible.

yeah I'm twenty years older than everyone in the front row at Jamie xx but I reckon I could still bounce
(certified cool dad)
edit: and seriously check Heilung's set tomorrow. Throat singing slightly baked druids with a threatening aura. Veterans of WOMAD & Cambridge folk festival will appreciate

Not my bag musically but Dua Lipa has a fair set of lungs on her. Doing all that dancing and still sounding barely out of breath is seriously impressive.
I would also agree she's pretty easy on the eye.

PJ Harvey knocking it out of the park again. I fully admire her commitment to looking like she’s going to the Oscars every time she leaves the house. She’s the absolute best.

Fair play she can sing a bit Dua Lipa and she’s a very engaging performer, her movements are quite awkward but interesting at the same time
Her songs are a bit shit though

I would also agree she's pretty easy on the eye. If you mean when she spoke without sounding breathless, fair enough, obviously fit in more ways than one. But there is zero chance IMO a big portion of that show wasn’t a total mime job, or she’s veeeeery low in the mix under backing tracks. You can’t do all that and pull off a flawless vocal. And I’ve seen her sing brilliantly with a live band so I know she can do it. That was all in service to visuals and dance routines though. Not IMO in the proper spirit of a festival headliner. But obviously thousands of people in that field would disagree so I’ll just shout at clouds some more. If you were being ironic and agreed all along I’m sorry lol.

No dead birds on her head today from what I've seen thus far...

Each to their own but I’d never heard of pj Harvey and I watched 4-5 songs and had to goto a different stream as it was so so boring. Maybe I’d like her studio albums but as a performance, god no.

Dua lipa is just Eurovision, sub par pop shite. She wasn't always this banal, was she?

My missus can't stand her voice My Mrs can’t stand her either but that’s mainly because I’ve basically been in love with her for 30 years now. And, yeah, I can see how if you’d never heard her before this would t do much for you. It’s not exactly ‘come on Eileen’. ‘What is the glorious fruit of the land?’ CROWD: ‘THE FRUIT IS DEFORMED CHILDREN!!’

You're all mad. Dua Lipa writes cracking pop tunes. Banging, as the youth say.

I don't think I've actually heard any of her music. She can't exactly act very well if Argylle is anything to go on.
I'll probably end up checking it out later and feeling like a dirty old man.

LOVED Dua’s first 2 albums packed with hits. Third one very summer dance vibes and has left me quite cold.
And yes she’s fit as.

I don't think I've actually heard any of her music. I think it’s a ‘you know more crowded house songs than you think you do’ situations. If someone said ‘that’s dua lips’, you just shrug and go ‘ah, right’. Same with Ed Sheeran. I’m always surprised when the DJ announces that it him. In my head, I’ve still never heard any of his music.

Thought she was very good at what she does. Not reinventing the wheel but a solid and interesting performance.
Wasn't a fan of the chat, came across scripted and fake. Mrs Damaged also said "bollocks" to the manifesting. She's been doing that for years with the lottery and we've won fuck all.

On a side note. Lcd soundsystem were great! And perfect soundtrack to sitting in the garden with the bbq going.

Cindy Lauper is currently putting forward a strong argument for on stage miming.

Due Lipa does have some good summery pop songs but she’s not the messiah. I’d say Billie Eilish and Lana Del Ray are much more interesting in the female pop sphere, maybe I’m just dark.

I know she’s massive so this says more about me than her but the only Dua Lipa song I’ve heard that I’m consciously aware of it being one of hers is from the dance number in that netflix Resident Evil series

I've still got Levitating stuck in my head from watching her set at lunch time, so say what you want, but she does catchy pop songs.
Daughter has been pushing to get Dua Lipa tickets for later in the year, but they're bloody expensive. I think I'm going to take the fact that she got bored after 25 minutes as an indication that I shouldn't splash out on the tickets.
I can't see how anyone could hate PJ Harvey's voice.

Like nails down a blackboard according to my missus.
Although, the fact I pretty much battered Let England Shake & Stories in the car for ages may also have contributed.
And the fact i would probably swoon like in some ropey regency romance novel if i ever met her.

I thought Dua Lipa’s set was incredibly dull. Anne Marie’s is well worth watching though - full of character.

I think I met PJ Harvey once but being terrible with faces I’m not certain. Pretty sure though. She laughed at me giving her a funny look, whilst I tried to work it out by repeatedly looking at her photo on a guy with a dry T-shirt on (who coincidentally was stood nearby) and her in the flesh.

As diddy little pop stuff goes, you get your monies worth with Anne-Marie. Plus she seems to be one of the few that actually seem to enjoy what they do rather than poncing about miming to computerised shite yeah i figured it was generic bubblegum tiktok inspo-pop but couldn't be arse to change the stream and... it was genuine and fun and who the fuck am i to deny gen z their toys. it was cool
something about watching - even vicariously - music in a field that just makes everything better. i'm even loving coldplay right now

I am glad that I went to Glastonbury in the mid to late 90's. Maybe it's just a case of getting old and rose tinted specs but the bands that were on then just makes modern Glastonbury just seem all a bit...dull in comparison.
May also just be a case of the general music scene these days.
Coldplay headlining for the 5th time seems to back up my thoughts on the matter.
