Anyone?
So that Seiya Suzuki can play a bit, eh?
6 at bats, 2 runs scored, 3 hits including a Home Run, 3 walks and 6 batted in. Batting .500.
In his first three MLB appearances.
Cubs 3-1 up in the top of the 3rd, looking to sweep the Brewers. That'd be a good start.

I normally don’t pay any attention to it until a few months in. The first half of the season is just so…meaningless.
Interested to see if my Jays can make the next step this year. Ton of talent there if they can just keep it consistent.

I try and watch as much as possible early because you get lots of day games. As the season progresses, they peter out a bit and they're all 7pm EST starts, which isn't so great here.
And it's good to get a sense of who is going to be around to root for (maybe).

Wondering what people think about the DH rule going universal this year. I’m guessing all of the NL pitchers have breathed a sigh of relief. But by the same token some of the best two way players are in the AL anyway, so I know some people were hoping for the rule to go the other way.

It's been kinda weird this weekend not watching the pitchers hit and it was a defining thing when I first got into the sport. Pitchers in the NL batted. I can see why they've changed it, but I'm not sure how I feel yet. Amusing to see that Shohei Ohtani threw the first pitch and led off as DH for the Angels on opening day.

Somewhat off topic but I’m really enjoying the tweaks to MLB The Show this year. Mini seasons are a great way to grind XP, and making March to October multi-season actually turns it into a better franchise mode than franchise mode itself.
Out of the Park 23 out on the 22nd too.

Started following the Braves 4 years ago thanks to an American roommate. Hoping they can put together another strong year, and than Acuña gets back in action before too long.

No sweep for the Cubs, Brewers came back to win 5-4 last night.
It's been great to have Baseball back, considering how much it seemed like it might not happen a few weeks ago.

I would love to watch it but it's not available. I even went to a Jay's game the year they won their first of their back to back titles.

I can't say but for me the Spanish website lists it as 139 USD so that's still 130 Euro for a year and around 20ish for a month. Seems really pricey to me at least.

It is expensive, especially as it's difficult to watch late night games.
It is also MUCH easier to stream than say, football. Depending on how you feel about such things.

MLB tv is pricy here, but usually drops to half price part way through the season, so I grab it then.
Think Apple TV have got rights to games over here this year too, which is a cheaper way to watch some.

Apple have some limited Friday games but reception has been mixed so far, the commentary was pretty awful, meandering and not focused on the game at all at times, at one point they did a full screen cut away to a food cart to discuss hot dogs while action was going on on the field
Early days though.

My girlfriend is in Atlanta for work this week and is currently right outside Truist Stadium for the Braves/Nats game. I’ve still yet to go in person for a game myself, due to the nearest MLB stadium being a good 600 miles from where I live, so I’m quite jealous.

I’ve only been at the Giants stadium before but I must admit it is very pretty right on the San Francisco Bay. Was before I was into baseball though so my lasting memory is paying $14 for a Lagunitas lil sumtin IPA.

I used to go watch the Jays quite regularly when I was out in Toronto. My mate was the mascot so could swing free tickets in the good seats. When he couldn’t though, you could get midweek bleacher seat tickets way out in the sticks for $5, so it was easy to just pop along (this was around 15 odd years ago though).

Ooh nice topic, literally just bought tickets for Dodgers v Pirates end of May. Will be first ever ball game and couldn’t work out where to sit, opted (rightly or wrongly)for where most likely for my two boys to potentially try for a catch in crowd! Long on in cricket terms!

When I was living in Toronto I was a semi regular at the Jays games, because they were dirt cheap. Just loved being at the stadium, even if the team were a bit shit a lot of the time. Usually dragged my girlfriend too, and she wasn't pleased when evening games dragged on till after 11pm lol.
$5 beers and $5 hot dogs was win.

Really does tend to be a fun way to spend an evening, while being engaged in the game or not.

Was at Giants vs Dodgers in SF 10 years ago and the craic was amazing. Getting tickets for sports and events was so good though, with the resale apps. Could get on the day tickets for so much stuff dirt cheap.

Another two homers for Seiya last night, that makes 3 in 4 starts.
Apparently, the strike zone in MLB is not as difficult to get used to coming from the J league as some people said.
5 hits in 12 ABs, 3 homers and 8 RBIs. 4 walks.
Man's a machine.

In Dodgers news, Kershaw did 7 perfect innings. Wish they let him try for a perfect game for his season opener, but I get why they pulled him. Allegedly he’s going to retire after this season.

Cubs are killing the Pirates at Wrigley.
15-0 in the bottom of the 5th.
Might be mercy rule time very soon.
