Got as far White noble boss, thought I killed home first time and was chuffed as fook, but no there’s a second phase.
Can you buy something to get mana back?

There are some skills that let you recoup some mana eg on crashing immobilise, successful rock solid, etc but other than that I don't think so.

There is a gourd which if it full health it gives mana instead. There is also a soak that gives you some mana when using the gourd.
Not sure you would have access to either yet.

Also when you get the split spell invest points to max it out straight away, it does crazy damage and will get you out of bother quite a bit on bosses. If you are lucky you can cast twice across a fight if you open with it too.

Prison area tip run to the top and avoid everything and kill the boss, it will stop the debuff. You can explore the area after

Well the White noble is doing my head in, get the second phase to half health but I’m struggling to get his move set as it seem quite erratic.
I’ve always liked a summon from the Soils games.

Are you crafting consumables to help.
Can't remember if you have one or 2 spells at that point but save them for phase 2 where you need them most.

The only thing I don't like about this, at least at this stage is it just feels like a boss run game. Just killed a boss, got to another checkpoint, killed 2 normal enemies and another boss. I'd prefer a larger break in-between.

There are much larger breaks after the first chapter.
Also Scorpion Lord, good luck 😂

Does it have the bit from Journey To the West where Sandy and Pigsy become pregnant and they have to go drink water from the abortion spring to get rid of the children? I feel like that would be hard to do in an action game.

Yeah there is a high density in chapter one. The game opens up into a massive map for chapter 2.
I didn't mind too much as they bosses were good fights and I didn't take more than a couple of tries for most of them.

Boss rush game feels like boss game? Chapter 1 feels more dense because there’s only one way to progress (though I didn’t feel like it was too heavy as, other than the Wandering Wight, who is optional, I felt there was still some distance between them). The Chapters after open up a lot more, but you’re still essentially going from boss to boss to boss on different pathways.

Yeah but by stripping it down to that level every soulslike game is a boss rush. In the chapters after one you have to explore and try and find the hidden areas as the chapter end bosses are hard enough without the items that benefit you.

There’s more of a focus on bosses here though, with 91 of them total. And you do rattle through them much faster.

Wonder how many of them I've killed, I should look in the encyclopedia thing.
I would say of all the ones I've done about 5 have been difficult and about another 5 challenging. The rest I have pretty much breezed through and I've just started chapter 5.

Yeah indeed, I thought it was excellent.
Good job beating the windy bastard as well, not sure I could have done it without the item.

Yeah I had the item, on the whole he didn't seem too bad, although it was a bit hairy at the death. Took two goes I think, maybe three - the 'Well' boss took me way longer.

The item helps a lot, his final bit is a nightmare without it. Stuff going on everywhere!

Starting to get some performance issues in Chapter 3 on PS5. Actual stutters, though nothing that’s affected gameplay yet.
Ed: hopefully it’s just that I haven’t closed the game for some time.

Yeah I had them on pc as well, fixed it by dropping global illumination down one setting. That's no help to you but I think it's something to do with the area.

Sounds like there's a known memory leak issue on PS5 after 5+ hours of playing, so just close the game fully every once in a while and you should be good.
