Super Metroid Started it to test out my new emulation machine despite playing it last month. Carried on playing for a bit longer, then just sat down earlier today and ploughed through the bulk of the game up until the last item sweep before the final encounter. I'm missing one missile and one super, which I think is the exact same as last time around FFS. Such a timeless classic. Easily my personal favourite GoaT. You should try it on the new Switch OLED, it adds full 3d graphics and ray-tracing

Been on a vroom vroom game kick lately, currently trying to think of a "banging in the rear" joke to explain a Wreckfest obsession.
Haven't really done driving games since ye olde gran turisimo but Forza, Snowrunner, and now Wreckfest all now on rotation. Need more recommendations.

Yeah, Hot Wheels is definitely what you want. Cracking little bit of arcade perfection.

Been in and out of horizon zero dawn for the last few months (mostly when nothing else to play), took a very long time to get into it (most of the NPC voice acting is so dull), but the sci-fi angle and discoverable journals etc are starting to make it enjoyable, so probably going to stick with it until completed now.

I bought Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze at the same time as Metroid Dread and I've not even given Metroid a look yet. So good and quite tough, not what I was expecting.

The main thing right now is Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous
It's pretty good! A bit lore-heavy at the start, but eventually it settled down. None of the characters have really stood out so far, but generally I'm happy to spend time with them.
There's a lot of meaningful choices to be made too. Unfortunately it's still pretty hard to roleplay an evil character in these games - like with many WRPGs, being evil is apparently just being a complete psycho who murders people for no reason - but the other paths are interesting.
As for the gameplay, I eventually gave up trying to craft my own character and used a build guide, because the level of customisation in this is fucking crazy. There's at least 20 classes, each with 3+ subclasses, and you can mix and match them pretty much at will. With all the abilities, feats, spells, the new Mythic Path system, etc etc... it's just all a bit much. Fantastic if you like spending hours theorycrafting, but it's pretty daunting for me.

The games biggest strength is its story and how it slowly reveals it to you, through the main missions and all the journals and audio logs that you collect. It really gets intriguing. Fantastic stuff.

Bought the game of the year upgrade for XCOM 2 as I saw it cheap somewhere, and now I wish I'd bothered sooner.
I loved Enemy Unknown and Within, but for some reason I just didn't get into the base version of 2.
War of the Chosen just seems to click a lot better and now it's giving me the "one more go" feeling that I've not had for a while. It's great.

If your familiar with the other new XCOM games it's easy enough to work out the systems - and that feeling of not having enough time to do everything is pretty much to be expected in this series, but if you're totally new to the series there might be an argument to play the base game first to just get the basic mechanics.

I wouldn't go too far in the base game before starting War of the Chosen, though. It's not really just an expansion, it changes almost everything about the base game.

Yeah just start a new game with WOTC. It's practically Xcom 3. Like he said it changes pretty much everything about the base and the mission games. And yes you should have bought it sooner.

Still enjoying Skyward Sword. Just gone back to Faron Woods to meet an eternal dragon or something. My one real complaint is that it does feel a little too streamlined and I’m playing the game in fast forward. For better or worse, and dark souls 3 suffered from this too, is that the gameplay beats of 3D zeldas are so ingrained you you kind of play them in automatic. Still a top game though.
Downloaded Tetris Connect and enjoying it a lot. It’s lumines! But Tetris! Currently just doing the main mode and think i got one chain of levels Left to do. Looking forward to seeing what else the game as to offer.
After not being too impressed with the new Battlefield Beta downloaded V just now so will spend a bit of time with that/ or a little bit of Warzone too

Vagrus: The Riven Realms came to my attention on Steam yesterday (time-limited sale) and I decided to check out the demo, which is about 2 hours of gameplay.
It's an intriguing idea - it's an RPG where you manage a merchant or mercenary group that travels the wasteland, having to pay crew wages and upkeep, and trying to make money. There is scads of text to read (the writing is a wee bit overwritten but that can be good fun too), and choose-your-own-adventure type choices, along with overland map travel and tactical combat a la Darkest Dungeon (your two rows of three face their two rows of three) which seems very clunky but is no doubt due to my ineptness. There are loads of stats, which I don't know enough about, and it's supposed to be very difficult.
There's about an hour left on the sale...undecided.
Anyway, the demo is called Vagrus - The Riven Realms: Prologue if anyone wants to check it out based on the above.

My wife and I play coop grim dawn. Still on normal difficulty
Previously we played poe together, two leagues together but given the game's requirement to grind maps and drop rate of good stuff being tied to trading with other players which ruins fun for us,we cannot do it anymore.
So grim dawn was chosen and so far we are enjoying it. It does not have the flexibility of skills of poe where you can eaily change skills so it has a more monotone combat.
Still fun. See how far we can go before it becomes to repetitive.
On my own i am playing Pillars 1 and imperator rome.
In pillars i am finishing act 2 and soon to embark to winter march 2.
Imperator rome Trying to conquer world for achievement. And i might not be able to do it before times runs out.

Recently completed Deathloop and I really enjoyed it once I got my head around what was going on. I wasn't sure if I made a mistake buying it the first 90-120 minutes of game time but once I clicked with it I couldn't stop playing. I really would like some DLC for it as an excuse to go back and play it.
Played some Battlefield 2042 over the weekend as was thoroughly unimpressed and disappointed in pretty much every measurable way.
Have got Back4Blood installed and was going to play some last night but was tasked with building some IKEA furniture instead so hopefully tonight I'll get a few hours free to have a go on it.

I'm still debating if I should go with Pillars 2 or return to do a second run of the first one. I intentionally left out White March back then, but that's supposed to be the best bit of the whole series. Well, at least according to Internet.
In any case, I have been playing a number of things. I played a number of skirmishes in Submarine Titans, an old underwater RTS. Mostly just researching stuff and building up defenses and a fleet, while watching the AI at work. Unfortunately they were usually a bit too incompetent, so that I had to eventually finish it myself. In my last skirmish before uninstalling it I played against a team of two AIs. It was perfectly doable, but a bit hectic at times. I had one pretty nasty breakthrough at one point, but overall just building up some underwater plateaus with additional layers of defense and making sure to have some more turrets to protect my main base against raiders, worked quite well.
Otherwise a bit of Doom 3 where I'm only at the end of the Alpha Labs and Dishonored 2 where I'm moving towards the Clockwork mansion right now.

Still playing Dishonored 2, some way through the Clockwork Mansion. I've dealt with the side mission and am on my way upstairs to tackle the main mission now. I've also started Avicii Invector, which was an Epic freebie. Nice chill (compared to Thumper for example) rhythm game and the tunes are great of course.

White March is certainly one of the better parts of the game, yes. And you can start it fairly early, I think the beginning of it is aimed at around level 7 chars. If you go there much later, the game tells you that you are overleveled and gives you an option to increase difficulty.

If you go there much later, the game tells you that you are overleveled and gives you an option to increase difficulty. That's actually ideal since I don't want to redo Od Nua this time around, but I didn't know how White March would fit in terms of progression and necessary experience for other content. I had assumed that the expansion was meant to be done towards the end of the main game.
Though perhaps the upper levels of Od Nua might still be useful for some experience before going for Raedric. I don't quite remember what level my group was when I did that encounter the last time, but I think it was 4 or 5.
Edit: A bit more detail on my Dishonored 2-playthrough so far: I have gone with Emily and have murdered pretty much anyone I could get my hands on in the first mission. It seemed appropriate, but that's not how I'm doing the rest of the playthrough. Missions 2 and 3 turned out resaonably well in terms of stealth and non-lethality, though especially during 2 I was detected quite a lot. 3 turned out better in that respect. So far I have most of my points in Shadow Walk and to no one's surprise I have also been using Far Reach quite a lot. I might get Mesmerize next. Perhaps Duplicate. Not sure what would fit best with Shadow Walk. At the moment I'm getting the impression that functionally there is a good bit of redundancy with these skills, so I don't really know what I should take.
The story-setup is similar to the first game, but it's less convincing and so far the game hasn't added enough detail to that setup to sell it to me. There are just too many unanswered questions and kind of ill-fitting justifications. Dishonored was better about setting up its conspirators as smart people that didn't want to be seen as assassins, whereas D2 starts with a massacre and takeover out of the blue. Under those circumstances it's not enough to have half the guards at Dunwall Tower in their pockets, but the rest of nobility, military etc. would also have to be on their side. And at that point it gets kind of difficult to keep all of that secret for long enough. Perhaps more meat will be added as I progress, but at this point it mostly seems like a way to get rid of Corvo/Emily and then ship off the remaining character to a new city.
I'm also not a fan of the new Outsider. He's ok, but he's basically a different character. And unlike some others I really didn't mind him in the first game.
But in spite of how the last two paragraphs must sound: I definitely liked it so far. Especially missions 2 and 3 were satisfying and interesting to get through. Just like in the first game I still love these little nooks and crannies one can reach with Blink/Far Reach in the upper parts of houses.

Still Bioshock Infinite. I've not had a lot of time for gaming the last few weeks, so I've not got that far. Just about got all the weapons now.
