No frothing-at-the-mouth outrage over the fact that some of the death animations in this game will be locked behind the season pass? I'm disappointed, Font Geek. Disappointed. ...tell me more, I am raising my fist as I type, it is past my hips right now. Also game looks stunning and I think I would welcome a season pass, depending on story content. I can't wait to get stuck in next Friday evening.

I'm all over this game regardless, but such a strange decision.
If you've invested heavily in making a better Dead Space than Dead Space, maybe even hoping to start a new franchise with the half the original DS team. If you've gone to the trouble of casting Hollywood actors, don't then bloody hide death animations behind a damn pay wall.
Those little details help make each encounter feel more unique/organic. You've ran out of cash, fair play but don't strip assets from the damn game to sell as DLC you lunatics.
For a game like this, I'd pay for something like a directors commentary after launch. Absolutely no idea if that's been done before, but an audio guide or walkthrough how each scene was designed as you're playing it would be superb.
Definitely ain't paying for death animation #5 for an alien zombie type 2.

Until I know the full context of this DLC stuff I'm going to reserve judgement. I can't be fucked getting outraged at something that may not even be the case and, if so, something I'm not going to give a shit about. I just want the game to be good.
Bearing in mind that I'm someone that recently has paid upwards of 40 quid for some weapon and armour ornaments in Destiny because I want my guardian and guns to match, I realise I may very well be part of the problem anyway.

The director has clarified it's not stuff held back for the main game
New animations I presume mean something like new enemies/environmental hazards brought in with the Story DLC (which is now news to me). Still, weird thing to market for your season pass as it raises all these questions.

Logic? Reason? Clear-headedness?
My dear Wunty, you're not internetting correctly!

I hope its just bad marketing copy but its still a terrible look
Having a mess of cosmetic dlc for a single player story campaign game is pretty lame as it is.

I did read up/watch YT outrage and to be honest I do not give a toss, game looks class and the season pass mentions story dlc, if this is good and I haven't sold the game (highly unlikely) months before I will purchase...as long as the leccy bill is paid before! As it is I'm trying to get GoW: Flacidcock beat before next Friday, so I can crack on with CP

Death animations behind a season pass on a single player survival horror game.
I hate modern gaming.

To be fair if its content they haven't even started work on yet, fair enough.
Dead Space 1 & 2 I just adored. I Even bought the wii Dead Space on-rails shooter they brought out.
Seeing Glen and his team get a second shot at his game seemingly free of corporate interference is just brilliant.

Extra death animations, no?
I don't get the outrage, as in I don't see how this is suddenly now a lesser value product because some content might get added to it at a later date. I feel it's actually extremely rare that a game has actually felt like it's put the consumer in a position where they need to pay extra to get a basic full experience. The cut content argument doesn't often wash with me, but to each their own.

Callisto Protocol is being released on my 46th birthday, and I doubt I’d have given a fuck about this DLC beat-upon my 16th birthday.
…
Actually, not sure the internet was a thing then anyway.

Yeah, I haven't got a problem paying full price for a basic experience

I'm frothing.
Saw an advert for this on TV earlier. They must have some faith it's good.

Death animations not a big deal for me as I probably won't see many of them.

It's a feature I would have quite liked in the Tomb Raider reboot trilogy

I'm frothing. Saw an advert for this on TV earlier. They must have some faith it's good. Looks like it's the publisher's first big boxed release, so they're probably extra committed to making sure it sells decently. I'll definitely be jumping in if it reviews well anyway after watching that last trailer.

baihu1983 I'm going to go out on a limb (!) and say there is no need to worry. My copy is bought and paid for already.

Nah. Could be they just don't want spoilers out there in the world.
Or it could be shit.
Fuck knows. Few more days. I can't wait.

Friday release along with a review embargo is such an anti-consumer load of shit. At least if it was a Tuesday release you can grab it in time for the weekend. I'll be waiting for reviews and playing it the following weekend if it reviews well.

It's extremely common for same day embargoes. I'm not sure why someone always needs to say " ooooh same day embargo it must be shit" when 90% of games have them.

I'd be surprised if it ends up being Hillbilly given the pedigree behind it.

60fps footage here. Dunno if it's just the area but it looks like the lightning and general look takes a fairly big hit in 60fps mode going from this.

Ngl quite like video games
I think I'm more interested in the DS remake than this as I haven't played it before and it's kind of already proven. Be interesting to see the reaction to both. Didn't realise this one was made by some of the original devs, so that's less awks

Interested to see how this turns out on Friday. Hoping it’s great, but have a niggling feeling it’s going to be very buggy and very clunky. But we shall see!
