You can’t really blame him for not getting on with a player who was racist toward his captain

See we've reached the "Ange has fallen out with..." Stage. Destiny Udogie, Guglielmo Vicario, Rodrigo Bentancur and Cristian Romero Where are you seeing this? Sounds like the usual media bullshit to create a ‘crisis’ at a club. I think we need some perspective and to understand there is not a quick fix. Kane has left and Son is in decline. Those two carried us for years. If we could get top 6 and a couple of decent cup runs that would be a good season imo.

No issue issue with a punishment, but Is what he did any worse than enzo et al who don’t seem to be getting punished? Genuine question.

You get a ban for racist comments, but sexual assault allegations. That’s fine.

12 month contract extension for Pep. With an option of another year.

I know I'm bias, but Wenger not being mentioned on the great managers poll. Obviously I wouldn't rank him as high as some of the obvious greats, but I mean he was a major part of changing the modern PL game...

Do you mean this poll? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c62j03978lnoI don’t think they’re comparing like for like but if we were to have a conversation about only the Premier League I’d say Wenger was ranked 2nd behind Ferguson. Pep, Mourinho and Klopp are all up there but two of them have an oilball asterisk and I don’t think the other has been as influential. It might be lucky timing but when you look at teams pre and post Wenger arriving there was a revolution in fitness, sports science and tactics that came in with him. Ginola tells a story about how Keegan told him it wasn’t healthy to smoke on the team bus so stop it, before telling the driver pull over so the lads could all have fish and chips. That was only a couple of years before Wenger taught us that maybe loading up on grease wasn’t ideal for elite level athletes. And he won titles in a more competitive league landscape.

That is a very strange omission. I assume it's lack of titles on the European stage.

Anything like that I would instantly ignore. Even if they didn't miss him out just to wind people up, it's still the standard nonsense engagement gathering exercise to take the place of actual journalism.
See also - where the BBC sport player ratings voting is the largest, dominant part of their in game coverage when it's meaningless but occupies more space than actual relevant stuff like line ups, stats or analysis.

I’d give it to the guy who Guardiola (probably the actual best manager in the world) says is the best manager in the world. Even though he’s won fuck all. And not just because I’m biased, honest. And not just because he’s my avatar on here too.

It's especially unforgivable on BBC UK pages. The entire point of the license fee is that they shouldn't have to chase advertising revenue and have content dictated by 'engagement'.

In terms of the actual discussion Wenger has to be right up there in terms of revolutionising attitudes within the game.
Results wise, he didn't get everything his teams warranted which has to count against him. Even so he still overachieved by quite a bit. Depending on how you estimate Jack Walker's Blackburn spend, he was the only manager to win a PL title without having the biggest wage budget in the years between formation and Leicester City.
Repeatedly finishing top four with minimal investment and losing star players was also pretty remarkable. Top four trophy became a joke but no one else has really done that before or since.
Given trophy count I'd have to rate Pep, Klopp and Fergie higher. Klopp especially because he had similar financial disadvantages to overcome. Had Wenger won the CL in 2006 and retired in 2014 he'd be on same tier.

The fact that someone like Capello didn't make that list just shows how high the standards are, I guess. Wenger was revolutionary for the PL (and helped push Ferguson to even greater heights) but doesn't quite belong there - I'd imagine him and Klopp would make a top 20 though.

Spurs doubling down, I see. He's a great bloke according to his manager, who "made a mistake" and got punished almost as leniently as the rules allow. Sadly Bentacur and his club clearly don't want to just draw a line under it and move on.

Yeah I thought that when I saw we’d appealed. Not a great look. One of those it’s best to just accept and move on.

Just one more ethical failing to add to the ever growing pile of cognitive dissonance football fans have to ignore or accept to participate in modern football.
The Spurs players will presumably still take a knee before kick off at the weekend.

City defeated in their quest against the rules being used against them. Clubs vote in the altered APT rules 16-4 (City, Villa, Newcastle, Forest).
Reported by a few people, but Telegraph leading it.
