Why even get the Xbox and 3DS?

Actually I don't think I can be arsed. My list is boring, just imagine a list of everything except for XSX which I don't own yet.

Timeline will probably be wrong but here goes.
C64 (Night Moves & Mind Benders bundle) Mega Drive (came with Aladdin)
Lots of shareware on my dad's Mac (LCII)
Sony Playstation. I can't remember why but this was replaced at some point with a redesigned PSOne. Maybe I sold it?
XBox (Halo and Ninha Gaiden are still the best overall gaming experience I've ever had I think, absolute magic).
PSP
Some time into the life of the Xbox I got a PS2, solely to play God of War and Shadows of the Colossus.
XBox 360 (this was refreshed once to a black one, maybe it RROD'd, can't remember). Think I got it with Project Gotham and GRAW.
PS3 and PS Vita
Xbox One fat, with the Kinnect (bundled with Forza MS 5).
PS4 - only kept this around a year.
Switch - brilliant but sold to release cash as I really didn't have time for it.
Xbox One X
And as soon as I could I got an Xbox Series X.
My fondest memories relate to the C64, Megadrive, Mac, original PlayStation and the Xbox 360.
I still game a fair bit but nothing like the old days and I think the 360 was the high watermark of that age where you have limited responsibilities, lots of time, and a bit of spare cash.
I'd meet my friends at the local pub two or three times a week but nearly every other night I'd play something single player and then a COD session would start. The lobbies were disgusting in hindsight but those were the times.

I think a really/more interesting thread would be along the lines of "Talk in proper anecdote form about your memories of a given system or console" to get a bit of back and forth and nostalgia going.
Maybe there is one but I wouldn't limit this to retro.
I might make one when this dies down if somebody else doesn't.

Maybe there is one but I wouldn't limit this to retro. I might make one when this dies down if somebody else doesn't. My Mega Drive was my first console and I loved the shit out of it. I believe I must have got it in Xmas '92. I spent way too much time on it especially considering I only had like 5 games for it total. My Mom ended up destroying it in temper one day and that's how I got a Mega Drive 2. PS1 came next and I believe it must have been Xmas '97. This console is now my favourite of all time and is definitely the reason I've remained a life long gamer. I can't overstate the impact FFVII had on 10 year old me from Europe who had no idea games could be like that. Can't think of a good PS2 anecdote other than I got it on launch and managed to dodge the launch model disc read issue. I broke my first one trying to get copied games to work on it before the proper disk swap tools were available (I used a fucking knife). Started to have disposable income at this point and I guess is the moment I became a collector. I bought a Gamecube and Mega CD around this time and started buying and rebuying Sega stuff. Got a PS3 soon after launch when they started throwing in two free games and an extra controller. Started to get a lot of disposable income and lived alone and decided to become a problem drinker for a few years. Bought a 360, slowly realised there were like 3 exclusive games on there I was remotely bothered about. I did this generation completely backwards and should have used 360 for multiplatforms rather than its exclusives. Late in this gen is when I got the space and the inclination to really start collecting and I now own everything. Only haven't got around to XSX yet.

Spectrum 16K Spectrum 48k Commodore 64 Amiga- Ahhhh, Memories of Elite SNES for EA hockey (gameplay never bettered) and International Superstar Soccer Built my first PC, a 386 Built a Pentium 1 and then after a while a Pentium 3 Playstation One Xbox Xbox 360 - Soooooo much Gears of War hoard mode and Rainbow 6 Thunt (thanks UBI, you fucked that game) PS4- defected to Sony after MS dropped the ball PS5 -May be defecting back to MS next gen cause Sony are showing distinct signs of cuntishnish
Geez thats alot of money right there, especially as I tend to be a day one moron
PC ownership has been driven mainly by football manager, the ones I built were for that. After a while I could not be bothered building, so they were purchased with almost the sole intention of getting that game running like hot butter. What can I say, it was an obsession.
Even though I have a humongous Steam pile of shame, I don't tend to play games on PC these days, other than FM, it's mainly a media box. I have a compact mini-ish PC next to my TV and I run plex and all the normal internet stuff hooked up directly
Also have a PC on a Sim racing rig in the spare room

If it's not lists then I'm not interested. I find it easier to converse in lists. The format appeals to me. This thread therefore appeals to me. Because of the lists. Did I mention I like lists? More importantly. Is this a list?

My cousin had a CPC which we played loads before he got a Mega Drive. Often Roland on the Ropes or original TMNT, which was all kinds of shit in hindsight.

Gawd, I don't remember!
er...
zx spectrum / BBC Micro at school PC (286, 386, Pentium, etc..) PC / Some weird handheld that could play emulators, but I've forgotten the name. PC / Xbox / Gamecube PC / DS Lite / GBA Micro PC / Wii PC / Wii / Switch (with the kids)
Probably forgot something. There was also a shed load of n64 games in there at mates houses during uni, but I never actually owned one.
