If Ceefax counts, I need to add the Alien Fish Exchange that came with NTL television packages in the early 2000s. Fantastic game

I wanna contribute to this list, but I've been lucky enough to own (at some point) most of the mainstream consoles since the NES/Master System, so I would rather just list my favourites of each gen.
NES Gameboy SNES Playstation Playstation 2 DS Wii/Xbox 360 3DS Switch

Spectrum 48K Spectrum+ 128K Mac (original 512K model) Atari ST Mac (LC 475) Mega Drive SNES (flatmate at Uni had a chipped one) PlayStation N64 (bought whilst living in Australia) PC (and always since) PlayStation 2 Xbox 360 Wii PlayStation 3 DS iOS (phone and iPad) PlayStation 4 3DS Steam Deck
In addition to the above, my kids own a Wii U and a Switch, and my younger son now a PS5, but I game mostly on PC these days and so I haven’t felt the need to use any of them.

I'm between meetings at work so I'm going to make you all as bored as I currently am.
Chronologically this will look wildly out of order but it is broadly accurate
Mega Drive Game Gear PC PS1 PS2 Mega CD Gamecube + Gameboy Player GBA PSP Wii PS3 360 NES Saturn SNES US SNES Master System N64 Dreamcast 2600 Game Boy 32X PS4 Vita Original Xbox Famicom Wii U XB1 3DS US N64 Switch PS5 PC Engine + Super CD 2
Probably forgetting some. These are all hooked up and ready to play.

Yeah I've got a man cave but the modern systems are mostly in the living area. Not going to lie, with this many systems, you have to be the sort of person who finds the fun in keeping it all up and running as much as actually playing anything because it's honestly about 50/50
I'll be the first to recommend emulation to actual human people who have only a normal interest in retro gaming

Totally. I got all nostalgic recently and bought a duff Amiga with the sole intention of getting it up and running again. Spent weeks bleaching the case, replacing components, installing a flash drive in, etc - it was amazing fun and now it all works. Not played a single game on it for more than 5 minutes.

So I went the emulation route - but it's still a time sink. I must have spent months setting up HyperSpin (over a few years), cataloguing ROMs, setting up all the launcher profiles, signing up and downloading art and video packs from EmuMovies. I'd spend less than 10% of the time actually playing anything (though my boy played quite a bit). Now on LaunchBox (via EmulationStation) and things are so much simpler, but I still probably spend more time fiddling with shaders in RetroArch than actually playing things.
