What I need is a full game of p.t. as that demo was easily the most scared I've been in gaming, nothing was ever close. I was sweating and could barely finish it, I was terrified and I loved it. It got to the stage where I would fire it up and have to close the fucking thing after about thirty seconds. It was excruciating. Absolutely amazing but there's not way I would have lasted a full game of that intensity. Can you imagine. |

I still think PT worked because it was a small demo. If it had been an entire 10 hours game like that, people would have eventually got used to it.
It reminds me of the underground bits in Fatal Frame 3: they really creeped me out, but they especially stood out because you only have to go down there twice in the entire game for like ten minutes total.

Yeah, agree with this completely. Those super intense moments are fantastic and the experience often stays with you long after you've completed the game; however, they do also benefit from being paced out and (if successful) delivered at exactly the right time. I also find that those 'down time' moments/sections in many survival horror games, not unlike in horror films, can also be some of my favourite parts. Bit of exploration, a brief respite from enemy encounters, puzzles/chances to flesh out the lore/world/atmosphere, when done well, really adds to the eeriness factor. |

You what I would like though, I'm all for a BT helmed SH2 remake, and a new SH game, and another Gans film... But a remaster a la Nightdive of SH1, 2 & 3 in the meantime would be lovely. |
