Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2022

Nintendo don’t sell keys for their game any more, just those £84 vouchers.

Sony do have keys for some games, but oddly not all. Seems like it’s relatively few titles though.

Edit: actually just looks like PS4 and crossgen.

Just finished it. Much like the original two MWs, a great ride but not quite as good as the original, although the story was very good on this.

It does try some new stuff on 'Alone', but it can be very frustrating. Put aside a solid 40 minutes plus for that one. The AI has that thing whereby once they're alerted to you they all instantly bring accurate fire on you.

I thought MW19 campaign was a 10, this one a 9.

If anybody hasn't played Black Ops Cold War, that was a really excellent story mode.

I'm kinda glad there isn't the outright hatred I expected and it's been good to share in the excitement for it.

I've been an unashamed fan of COD since the second one on the Xbox and if anybody hasn't played the following campaigns (always feel daft saying that) and can get them at a price point they are happy with, Infinite Warfare (if you can dig the sci fi), Black Ops Cold War and both of the two newer Modern Warfares are great, tight and brilliant looking rides. I also thought WW2 was very good.

Agree with the presentation and I think the acting is of a high standard. The new Ghost and Price actors are excellent. Price's actor is actually Liverpudlian, it was quite shocking seeing him interviewed when I looked him up!

I would echo that. Currently playing through Alone mission and on the whole I’d say it’s a recommend. It’s good fun in places but that convoy mission is the worst, it just went on and on. Strange level design considering the rest of it is very good in the main.

Heh, I didn’t switch until the very end when you had to. It wasn’t difficult, I think, just needlessly long. I’m gonna do a Veteran play through and I’m already bricking it about that bit.

Aye, I did that for GT7 and then it also went on sale which was great. Picked up CoD for £54 on XBOX in the end. It usually has the slightly higher res of the two anyway and VRR takes care of the frames. Loading time is fine. Haven’t missed the haptics so far.

Finished this up yesterday. For the most part I enjoyed it. It’s really slick and feels really good to play. Liked that they tried to change things up often, leaning into war zone type gameplay in the latter missions.

It’s a bit trial and error though at times that brings it down a notch. The convoy mission l, alone and the last mission can be annoying at times if you get caught in a save loop where you have to get Out of a situation. But it’s far more experimental, if a little rough round the edges, than what I was expecting. It doesn’t quite have the finesse of the games it’s looking to borrow from. Still good fun for 7 hours though.

Mere niggles against beautiful, and entirely authentic, dialogue such as “bloody fucking hell” which I’m sure we all fondly remember from hanging around bars in East London.

Next year's cod is supposed to be paid dlc for this I think which will continue the story. I think it's set to continue across warzone seasons until then as well.

This wound me up no end. Absolutely infuriating. I've not played a COD campaign for a while so I was a little surprised to see stuff like that still in a modern game.

Yes! I thought WWII was really great, and made similar Band of Brothers connections. So Vanguard wasn't as good? Shame.

Seriously, even now you will spawn right in front of other team players regularly.

Played an hour of multiplayer from midnight like the sad b*stars I am.

It feels like there have been some minor changes from the beta. It feels really great, the movement is very smooth.

The guns are great. There's a lot to plug away at as there are 'families' to unlock from one platform, for example I think the M4 turns into about five distinct weapons.

A map around a castle/fort stood out so far. It's really colourful and good looking.

The 141 operators are locked to vault edition.

Played basic 6v6 on TDM, Kill Confirmed, Hardpoint and Domination. I'll probably continue in that vein tonight but will try some of the larger modes over the weekend. Some of those involve bots and vehicles and random care drops.
