Nah, you tend to get a feel for it as you go on. Just examine each new card you get and think about how it might work on its own or how it might synergise with other cards. If you can picture a use for it, chuck it in your deck and give it a spin.
If you get absolutely hammered by someone else, just stop and take a look at the cards they put down and give those a spin if you have them.

Sounds like you guys are a bit further in than I am. I’m floating around the level 31 mark. What I’ve found is that after blowing through the starting credits on upgrading my cards, I’m effectively stuck because the credits you get for completing daily missions are so meagre.
Without spending real world money on upgrading the cards I can’t expand my card range at all, so it’s getting a bit boring. You just see the same deck strategies over and over. Not sure I have the time or energy to grind through it and damned if I’m spending money on it.

Un-upgraded cards give you the most value, as you can get one collection level for 25 credits, so make sure you play every card you get until you've upgraded it at least once.

Ah, this will probably be why I’m lagging behind. I squandered it all on getting Epiic cards.
Aaaaa-wooops!

Switching up my decks to try new cards helped a lot, use cards you haven't before to earn upgrade progress, the lower tier upgrades are v cheap on credits. which gets you collection levels, which gets you new cards and boosters. Also, good advice from earlier in this thread, unless you are rolling in credits don't bother spending them on the 3 fast card upgrades on the front page. Save them for the upgrade opportunities you earn from playing. edit: ^ mostly already said while i was typing

Yeah, it slows down but doing missions can get you a lot, especially if you complete all of them, then you get a big pay-out. I'm upgrading cards pretty regularly still.

Level 61, ryands here.
Still using pretty much the same deck since I started with a few tweaks. Half Nova/carnage/sabretooth/Wolverine and bucky for that destroy section, then Kazar, blue marvel and onslaught for buffs. Then Squirrel girl, Mr sinister to either be eaten or buffed depending on how game goes.
Harder to progress now though, most games I am about to win the opponent retreats. Or more likely they don't and after winning 3 games at +2 I lose a -8

Having a lot of fun with a deck that includes Sunspot, Dracula and Infinaut at the moment. If you can get Sunspot out and skip turn 5, you get a window to play Infinaut on turn 6. Or alternatively get Dracula out with a couple of 1-cost cards on turn 6 and he pulls Ininfaut's power at the end of the game.

Doesn't always work, but feels so satisfying when it does. On level 45 now, but have been going up and down between 40-45 quite a bit. Pretty damn addicted to it, though I had to switch to low detail and frame rate as it's a battery drain otherwise.

Still loving this. I'm just about to breach lv47 and mostly playing an ongoing zoo style deck.
One of my favourite locations is Kyln where it's locked after turn 4. I can usuall get iceman, Angela, antman and ebony maw down by turn 3 before it locks up and then just straight buff the shit out of them.

Started to lose a few games and my collection progression has slowed so decided to make a new deck around devil Dino with cards not used to get cheap boosts.
Well, I've jumped a few levels in progression (384 now) and got some nice new cards but fell off a cliff in rank. 49.8 down to 44. Fuck!

Have to be careful with low cost decks around level 45 as you start seeing quite a few killmongers. For a 3 cost card he can completely erase your board!

Holy shit kraven is a bit good during this bifrost event. All cards move and suddenly he's like 14 power

Just started playing around with a Pool 2 Movement deck and it needs a lot more thought than I'm used to. Easy to fuck up your movement sequences if your not paying close attention. Lot of fun when it works and catches out a lot of opponents, particularly a Heimdahl finisher.

Yeah. I also like locking up the middle lane but with some buffed cards on the right, let them push into it and overpower but then drag the big ones over to the left with Strange. Completely throws them off.
It's a strange deck and requires some placement thought. Same with Dino or discard, urge is to flood the board

I've been using a movement deck for the past couple of days and it's finally helped me break the level 50 barrier. No doubt helped by Bifrost too.
It can get very chaotic (especially with Multiple Man), and does require a bit of planning. But it's great when you somehow win after using Heimdall, despite not knowing exactly what the fuck happened or how all your numbers went up.

Currently playing a deck with random newer cards to get the boosters to upgrade them.
I must say, I really like Captain Marvel. She's won me a few games with her ability, but must be very annoying for my opponent.

I've put together a troll deck made up mainly of cards that negatively impact the other guy, which is fantastic fun when it works (showing my evil streak here) Always a bit of a gamble, but hobgoblin when they've got 3 cards in a location always makes me cackle.

It is great fun alright. Putting scorpion on a zone that copies him to another location is fun too.

Playing around with a move deck, which as others have said seems to be helping move up again. was pushing level 50 but got absolutely wrecked for 8, 8, and 4 points in a row which properly set me back!
It's horrifically addictive, largely because I think the designers have absolutely nailed it. It's so finely tuned, the locations are a fantastic idea, the backgammon style 'doubling' is inspired, and a big reason it's so addictive.

I need to give a move deck a go. I'm not too concerned with rank though.
Currently hovering at early to mid forties, and collector level is 545.
I've been doing destruction but it isn't working anymore, so it'll probably be a move deck. Though in my heart I know I'll mostly be hoping for the best when playing Heimdall, but might have some more success.
Do you guys snap every time, or do you do it when you feel like the tide is in your favour. I regret not doing it more often

I hardly ever snap cos I'm scared. I need to be absolutely convinced of a win! Much more comfortable accepting a snap if I feel there's a decent chance I can win. I think snapping the final turn as a bluff is optimal, as it scares me off regularly.

Tried with a move deck when the Bifrost was coming up so often, but like others, it's easy to get the placement wrong and mess it up. Multiple Man, Hulk Buster, Kraven and Hemidall seems to be the key, with Dr Strange adding to the fun. There's a card (forgotten who) that punches your next card over who would be very handy, but not unlocked him yet.
Up to 51 now, collector 429 and my Spectrum deck is still going well, but having a lot of fun with a deck around Sunspot, Jubilee, Devil Dino, Odin and The Infinaut. Play Sunspot first, then don't play anything to build up Dino. If Jubilee comes out on 3 or 4 then down she goes, sometimes brining in Infinaut, but also got Hulk and Chavez in there who often come down. Doesn't always work but when it does pays well.

With my Jubilee deck, I usually snap if she is in, retreat on turn 5 if she hasn't come up unless I have got lucky with the locations. I climbed pretty consistently with that approach, loosing 1 or 2 here or there but equally picking up 4 or 8.

I’m still doing ok with a deck that uses Dracula paired with Infinaut and Giganto. It can need a bit of luck but it’s great when your score suddenly goes from 0 to 20 on one card at the very end of the game. Even better if you get TVA and a lucky Dracula pull after turn 4.
I’ve been picking up some of the very limited banter options in the emotes too. Everyone else does Spider-Man pointing if they place the same card in the same location as their opponent, right?
Edit- also, my least favourite deck to play against is the one with Patriot, Onslaught and a load of cards with no abilities (squirrel girl’s squirrels, Mr Sinister’s clone etc). If they get lucky with the location that doubles ongoing abilities they’re basically unstoppable.
