The worst film I’ve seen recently is probably The Eternals. I have, technically, probably seen worse but Eternals was bad in a way that actually wound me up a bit.
Just that inescapable feeling that you are watching someone actually burn money.

If I'd actually watched it I'd say Dragon Ball: Evolution. I suppose if you don't know anything about the source material it could rise above the not-completely-terrible line (although even then it's still pretty shit) but if you do... Oof.
Apart from that nothing really comes to mind as bad... Admittedly it helps that I'm not much of a cinema guy to begin with, so most of the time if I decide to watch a movie I know ahead of time that it's at least decent.

If you think The Happening is bad wait until you see Old.

From those I still have some memory of, probably Top Gun. I recall that I also watched Battlefield Earth--I don't remember a single scene, but it was probably the worst film I've ever seen (not counting historic propaganda films).

Up for me. Starting off a comedy with the most poignant sad little vignette in film history just had me spending the entire movie depressed and tearful. Hated, HATED that movie.
Trying to think what else was bad.
Bad boys 3? Whatever the most recent one was I walked out of the cinema on. First movie I have ever done that.

100 minutes of my life I'll never get back. An ex made me sit through it with her, and I hated her for that almost as much as I did for the fact the she was physically abusive towards me.
It's some complete horseshit French sci-fi horror about people trapped underground, with tree roots that fuck them up.

Wow, Top Gun. that’s a bold claim. I remember having low expectations but being pleasantly surprised by it.

To be honest Revenge of the Fallen was so bad I didn’t give any of the subsequent Transformer films the time of day. Once bitten, twice shy.
Or at least I didn’t until Bumblebee. Which I enjoyed.

I had low expectations and it turned out far worse than I feared

It’s definitely not The Predator, which is actually good
I don’t watch many bad movies but I was “forced” to watch something called Mutronics / The Guyver when we all took magic mushrooms when I was young. Even worse was we watched it twice as we were tripping our tits off the first time
Turned out that Mark Hamill was in it, a rare movie role for him back then
Would not recommend

Nowadays you actually have options, but I remember being stuck in a plane with only one film playing and the options were to either watch it or close your eyes. It was fucking terrible.
I’d forgotten the title until now but thanks to IMDB I can confirm it was Head Over Heels starting Freddie Prinze Jr. probably not the worst film ever made but at the time it felt like it.

Mostly based off some love for the source material. It’s probably shit out of context.

Bit more subjective maybe, and I guess it's better than most things listed in a way, but Tenet is fucking shite.
As it came from a director whose work I usually find interesting (I wouldn't say like, as Nolan is a bit up and down), it just made the dissapointment even stronger.
But it's a messy film. Crap characters, crap plot with logic holes that the film tries to brush off by literally saying "Don't try to understand it. Feel it". And that was one of the better lines in a script of abysmal clunky dialogue.
I don't even think the much touted action sequences were that fucking good. The final sequence is actually laughably bad.
One of the biggest issues for me is that it takes a silly concept, that could potentially be fun, but then tries so hard to pretend that it's a super intelligent idea. It's not clever, it just pretends it is, wrapping up the dumbness with that clunky pseudo-intellectual dialogue.
Revenge of the Fallen is shit but at least it's not smugly stroking it's chin (let's imagine films can have chins) pretending to be clever.

Just that inescapable feeling that you are watching someone actually burn money. I didn't think it was terrible just extremely boring. Now Wonder Woman 84, that film was long, boring, deeply problematic and made cringe, especially the speech at the end. I often think about how there are real life people who signed off the dialogue in this movie.

I normally stay away from anything that is generally considered bad. I also am pretty easily pleased and can normally get something out of most films made by competent hands (e.g. lots of people hated Prometheus, but I just enjoyed how gorgeous it looked on a big screen).
Objectively worst, probably Plan 9 from Outer Space, although don't remember huge amounts about it now. We also watched a terrible karate film at uni multiple times, called Ninja Terminator. Utter rubbish, but definitely in so bad it is good territory.
Terminator: Salvation was piss poor and had little to worth recommending it. I also found Death Proof an absolute bore-fest.

So my friends and I used to binge 'bad movies', sometimes go to a 'bad' film club and watch stuff like this
Thing is, in the right atmosphere they're actually great, but for all the wrong reasons!
I wanted to post a trailer for Lady Terminator, which I saw recently. Just YouTube it 😅

I’m sure it’s not a “bad” movie per se but I hated Fight Club
A rare 1 out of 10 for me. Not sure why I hated so much as I’ve not watched it again since it came out

2025: The World Enslaved by a Virus.
Thought it might be a laugh to watch this, like The Room. It wasn't.

Eden Log looks incredible. It looks like it was directed by the RE1 FMV director.

For me it is , “The remains of the day.” My ex wanted to see it, and it had a stellar cast that I would normally enjoy in anything. But it bored me to the point that I dozed off in the cinema for a few minutes.

Moving to the animated sub-category, I don’t think I’ve seen something fail on every level as hard as Epic did.

Maybe I need to watch it again but I remember hating Attack the Block's efforts to make me sympathise with the teenage gang who mugged the nurse. Growing up on a council estate probably didn't help.
Sex Lives of the Potato Men is probably the worst thing I've seen. Last Airbender not far behind.

Sex Lives of the Potato Men is probably the worst thing I've seen. Im not a believer in guilty pleasures but if I were, this would be mine. The Great British Sex Comedy is a beloved genre in the Heracles house.

I'm sure I've seen more than my fair share of shite films but the only one that actually made me want to walk out of the cinema was the new Dune. A more tedious, pretentious pile of shite have I never sat through. That and The Predator are both horrific film experiences I never want to repeat. Hmm. Prometheus as well. All three films can go and absolutely fuck themselves.
