What was your favourite three games of 2022?
List your favourite three games to be released this year. 1st 10 points, 2nd 6 points 3rd 3 points. In a week ish I'll add them up and we shall have our winner....how exciting right!?
For me I'd have back 4 blood but I realised it's a 2021 release even though it's easily my most played game with 3 expansions out in 2022.
Oh my, I just went through my achievements and there are almost no games released in 2022 there. I think maybe 12 are 2022 and most of them I binned.
1) elden ring
2) prodeus
3) god of war Ragnarok
What a god awful year for me. Even games like gotg I thought I'd put on were also 2021.

I sense that Elden Ring might win it.
For me, it's Ragnarok. With an honorable mention for Stray.
I still haven't played Kena after buying it based on last year's thread. 😁

Ever since covid times and the lockdowns I have struggled to remember when things came out etc as all the years have blended into one.

Yeah, for a while I actually thought Elden Ring came out last year because this year has felt so long. But anyway Elden Ring for me. |

Yeah, I have a few that could potentially be top for me, but the three I chose where the three I played to completion, so… Though the fact that I played them to completion speaks to how they were able to hold my attention, at least. 2022 might be the year I discovered that I may be bored of video games. Didn’t finish Horizon, Elden Ring (to be fair played 80 hours of that one), and GOW amongst others. Felt restless playing a majority of stuff.
Saying that I loved replaying Uncharted 4 this year with the new ps5 edition. It’s aged really well. Its combat has a really satisfying playfulness and panche that I didn’t apprciTe first time round. All pacing issues I had with it originally didn’t materialise second time round either.

I've just checked, and while I've bought games released this year, I've barely played any of them. The only one I can remember playing is Lake, and that was extremely mediocre/disappointing.
So, yeah, Lake is my game of the year 2022. Yeesh.
Addendum: It appears that lake came out in 2021, so my goty is in fact nothing.

Edit- I forgot about the Disney game, definite sleeper hit for me. It may be an uncool choice but fuck it, I’ve spent many happy hours just pottering about and think it’s a really well done Stardew-like.

1) Xenoblade Chronicles 3 2) Elden Ring 3) ?? (I wanted to play other things that came out this year, but these two and a couple earlier releases took up pretty much all of my time... And I can't in good conscience put Pokemon Scarlet there when I've only played like two hours  ) I know, I know, blasphemy etc. but I have to be honest, not even Elden Ring kept dragging me back like Xenoblade does! I finish a multi-hour play session, go to bed and want to get back up and start playing again, it's crazy... It's only by a little, but it is first for me  |
