I seem to find them more often in level 40+ dungeons, but I don't know if that's a real thing or not.
If you're after quick xp/jp, there's an easier way to get it. But you need to have finished Partitio's story first, as it's tied to hiring a specific NPC that is only available then.

Finished Partitio today funnily enough (also Thrones, Temenos and Osvald...productive day), read up on the technique so gonna give that a crack tomorrow. Agnea I've got at 42 so realistically could do her one with my other guys who are all well over levelled, Casti only level 33 though currently...
Read that the story bit after the characters are complete they recommend towards 60 so definitely need some more levels!

Well, if you want to know, here is what you do... 1. Go to the town where you met the super-rich guy (I forget his name), and go up to his house
2. Complete the little side quest that his butler gives you. After that, the rich guy will be standing outside his house
3. Investigate him first (to make hiring cheaper), then hire him. It is quite expensive to do so, but you should have quite a bit of cash at this point
4. Go to a high-level dungeon, save, and get into a fight
5. Summon him in the fight. His skills multiply the XP or JP you get from the fight by 2, 10, or... 100. You want 100, so keep reloading until you get that
Then go back to town, rehire him, and repeat. |

You shouldn't need to grind that much. The final areas have a danger level of 50-ish, so you should be fine with just a few more levels (unless you want to fight the superboss).

Worked a treat, got everyone to over 80 now (some 90s), just whizzed through Casti's final chapter so only Agnea to go. Thanks  Excellent end to Casti's I must say. Tempted to go for the Platinum now, although should really finish this up and start something new as probably a better use of time! |

You should do the extra final chapters too. They actually give the game an ending, which the first Octopath did not really have.

Just done those and credits rolling now. 85 hours that flew by, genuinely think that game was a masterpiece. Certainly will be in the conversation for game of the year for me, wow. Even better than the first!

Yeah, I was frankly shocked by how good it was. I liked the first game just fine, but never expected a sequel to step it up this much. If they gave me one of this quality every couple of years, I'd be pretty happy with that.
