Played about four hours of saints and sinners on psrv2 yesterday and wow what an incredible game. Never played the original on psrv1, but this is so much fun, stabbing zombies in the head with a screwdriver 😀

Seems unlikely now that Half-Life Alyx will come to PSVR2, but Sony could of course just produce its own AAA VR games. A PSVR2-specific full TLoU game could be pretty amazing for example. Might shift some hardware too with the popularity of the TV series.

Don't know really, I just feel like we'd have heard something on the grapevine by now. Hope I'm wrong! My guess is everyone’s waiting to see how VR2 does. It’s probably not the sort of thing Valve would allow someone else to develop a port of, so they’ll need to be sure it’s worth their while. But it would seem to be a win/win if there’s enough demand to justify it.

Valve have such a weird way of working though. If they don’t have a team of people interested to do the port they’ll simply wheel their desks to a project they want to work on, and it doesn’t seem like they care much about it (otherwise, as mentioned, you would have heard something by now).
I’d love it to happen, otherwise I doubt I’ll ever get to play it, but I’m not convinced it will regardless of how popular the system is.

It isn’t inconceivable they just let someone else port it. They did it with the Orange Box.
It’s kind of rare these days for incredible games to exist only on one super niche platform. It used to happen more but these days demand will usually lead to someone supplying. Again I think if VR2 is a moderate success then it’ll somehow happen.

They seem to have lost all interest in VR. Sad really, I wish more people had a chance to meet Jeff.

They seem to have lost all interest in VR. Sad really, I wish more people had a chance to meet Jeff. Aren't there rumours of an Index 2, with a few patents sporadically being filed? Seems there are a few people there still interested in the hardware side, at least. May also be why they may want to keep Alyx exclusive if they are looking to release more hardware. You are right that more people need to get to know Jeff though.

You are right that more people need to get to know Jeff though. There was talk of a Quest-like device with the Steam Deck chip in it, but haven't heard anything in a while. Meanwhile the Index sits firmly at it's launch price, and it's mostly out of stock according to Reddit. I'm ready to upgrade though, the Index is a bit lo-res for flight sim.

If those sales figures are anything near accurate then I wouldnt expect valve to be rushing to port it over.
Sony will need to be looking towards lowering the price in the not too distant future, it was the thing that boosted the original psvr sales. They might not be able to yet though as it's a really nice bit of kit and I doubt they have much margin to play with.

Again, hardware can be subsidised if there’s profit to be made through software.

It can but that relies on good attach rates, the PS4 attach rate was 8.76 for the whole console which is pretty good but I can't find any for psvr. They probably should have gone with a stronger launch line up as they have put themselves in an awkward position now as people want games but publisher's are quite risk adverse and the install base is around 300k. Even if every current psvr owner buys it that's still not great numbers.

Moreso than the price, the lack of back compatibility was the real killer for my interest. Have nearly 20 PSVR games that are trapped in the past. Also not keen on the fact there are no disc versions of PSVR2 games so removes option of trading in/selling on.

They’d sell a bunch if they’d release a pc driver. I’m not going to buy a headset for GT7, RE:Village and Horizon. They are half arsing it again, locked down platform with not a lot of original content.

I had a feeling that if I just stayed strong and didn't give in to the lure of Yet Another VR Headset it would be for the best, and it seems that's the case since the temptation appears to have passed. I'd only be buying it for GT7, and clearly that's not a sensible purchase.
If they knock the price down a bit and/or bundle in some content to take the edge off I can see me giving in after a few drinks, mind you.

The boy has done well and saved quite a bit of cash towards this, about 40%. With the sale of PSVR and a few games, we are looking to add to his fund so he has this for his birthday. The question is, do we go for the bundle with Horizon and perhaps one other game, or the straight package with a couple more games...

Pavlov has dominated the psvr Reddit since release so worth having a look there, it’s very good and everyone playing seems surprisingly friendly so far. I’ve mainly played against bots as sniping them across the map is fun.
Creed is also good for some fitness.

Damn, Pistol Whip is good. The tracking is brilliant. It's very addictive - decent work out too. Kayaking made me a bit seasick. Although I also have a weird bug at the moment,.so hard to tell.

If you want to burn some calories put pistol whip on hard, dual pistols and invulnerable.
Apparently an hour of that yesterday was almost 500 calories.

Day 1 with it today. It is definitely an expensive niche toy at the moment, but the potential is incredible. Not played GT7 yet though. All about Pistol Whip. Firewall may be an absolute game changer.

Anyone else excited for Walkabout Mini Golf today? Unlocks at 6pm.
I don't think I've ever seen so many positive comments about a game before. I've not seen a bad word against it yet and lots of comments about it being the best VR game ever. I'm throwing caution to the wind and going all in with the DLC bundle. Weirdly no price on PSN yet but expected to be around £15 / £35 I believe.
