There’s a new Alex Honnold film coming out as part of Reel Rock 17 and it looks like an incredible project.
He’s got a new season of his Climbing Gold podcast coming soon too.

Congratulations to Josh Kerr with a fantastic win in the 1500m at the World Championship. Incredible run and nice to see Ingrebritsen taken down a peg (again)

Congratulations to Josh Kerr with a fantastic win in the 1500m at the World Championship. Incredible run and nice to see Ingrebritsen taken down a peg (again) I'm not sure what evidence for being a prick is out there (maybe lots) but he did a decent interview with an Irish nobody after the race where he described getting well (he thought) this morning after a mild sickness this week but just not feeling anything after 600m. And knowing that that that was it again. Clearly gutted but did the tour of (no doubt nearly identical) interviews and described the pain again and again. Seemed alright.

Surely it's human nature (or at least English culture) to enjoy someone who was (mildly) disrespecting his fellow professionals by cockily waving to the crowd with 200 to go in earlier rounds, then lose from that position in the final. 'Taken down a peg' is a nice way of putting it. I didn't actually see him go and congratulate Kerr at all either, but maybe that happened off-camera. I'm sure he's not a bad guy though, just a bit arrogant and if you showboat, you have to take it when you fall flat on your arse.
Josh Kerr was awesome though. I watched it with disbelief as it always felt like Ingrebritsen was going to hold him off and then come back at him but Kerr held his form brilliantly. Shear determination and commitment in that last 200m.
