I got my 10 year old a yo-yo so of course I’m now obsessed with mastering it. It’s difficult. I can get it to bind now so I’ll start looking at tricks next. How about you guys, do any of you throw? Can you walk the dog? Rock the cradle? Can any of you do the DNA? What’s your favourite string?

Its part of my DNA now. I had a fanta spinner when they were the fad and when I pick up a yoyo it just becomes an extension of my body.
I genuinely have three on my desk in front of me as I speak.

Ah man. The memories. I had a Fanta one and a Sprite one. Never could do them mind you but I actually wish I still had them.

Fanta were the lighter ones, while Cola/Sprite were heavier, right?

if a child can do this it can’t be that difficult He's young for an MP.
Back when the 2nd wave Yo-Yo trend hit my school I had one, but I could never avoid the thing where it starts twisting/flipping after the 3rd Yo. I always assumed it was due to the string getting twisted, but this was back in the days before youtube so I couldn't just look up a tutorial.

I had a Duncan FireWheel back in the day. Awesome Yo-yo. I wasn't ever much cop with it but it was smooth as butter.
Just off to eBay...

I had a red one of those firewheels. It was chunky, like a mini diablo. I was always worried the string would break when throwing it out forwards, and I'd get into trouble for breaking a window or something.

It snapped nicely back with my index finger resting perfectly in the groove. As it were.
