I don't get the idea of visiting a sunken passenger ship that killed loads of people appealing tbh. I'd absolutely go under the sea for the chance to see some sort of natural wonder or wildlife, or maybe even some old warship or whatever. But a luxury cruise liner that's mainly still in the public consciousness because of a Hollywood movie? Nah, you're alright.

Heard on the radio that they don't do this sort of thing for warships as they are seen as war graves and it's seen as being in poor taste. But surely the Titanic should be seen like that as well? |

It is a shame though. It's still a goup of people that died in a terrible accident, regardless of circumstances. Yet there needs to be strict regulation for this kind of shit. The sub was simply not suited to the task, and they should never have been allowed to go down there in it in the first place. I agree that they shouldn’t have been allowed to sell tickets for this, but you need to allow any nutter to try out whatever in these remote places if there’s no chance to harm other people or nature. I’m pretty sure the Wright flyer didn’t conform to existing regulations either. They should however make the nutter sign a no rescue thing, people shouldn’t have to risk their lives if it goes wrong. |

Just to add a contrary viewpoint, if I was rich, I would definitely have been intrigued enough that I might have bought a ticket. I'm fascinated by the Titanic and always have been.
Hindsight is 20/20 and while I'd of course know I'd be accepting some risks, I can't honestly say I'd know the difference between this sub and the non-implody sort that have been down there thousands of times without incident.
The game controller thing is the only thing that would raise an eyebrow but I could have dismissed it knowing that they are used all the time in the military.
Though don't get me wrong, you couldn't pay me to go on one now
