What broadband speeds have people got?
I think I’ve read it streams quite a lot from the cloud now and hence why with my 30mb speed it looks like an enhanced version of Minecraft (I’m on a Series X)

I just got in for a quick go and even ended my flight myself. No idea the controls for my flight stick so that's the next job.
900mb is my broadband.

So weird, aside from missing content on launch yesterday, the experience has been very good for me. No issues loading, everything seems to work fine, and now I have my beloved Icon A5 I'm gonna go sightseeing. Understandably sucky that it's being rough for practically everyone else.

Shame I'm not subscribed anymore. I'd be curious to see how it runs on my computer, as I've not only got a budget GPU (or failing that, a Series S) but also a 50Mbps broadband. Is it gonna look like Flight Simulator 98?
What's the download size?

Initial download is about 11 gigs. Then it downloads a further 50 gigs or so on first load. Almost all other assets are streamed on demand.

Still haven't been able to actually play it, Series X. If it's not one thing, it's yer mother. World Map not loading in airports, getting stuck in character creation screen, stuck in login queue, stuck at 97% loading assets.
Seeing as I'm on Gamepass I can shrug it off nay bother, but easy to forget that plenty of people will have been well hyped for this and splashed the cash on a copy.
In terms of the PR statement today from MS/Asobi (eg we massively underestimated server load, we stress tested for 200k), Gamepass is disruptive.
The reality being that as the games are "free", potentially millions of users will want to download and check out the gfx at launch. But realistically with GP out the equation only 200k of them would otherwise logging in.
So for live service or heavily streamed-in games launching on GP I do get why it's unreasonable to expect developers to have networking in place to support millions of concurrent users.
Will just have to give it a couple of days.

I have been trying to play quite a few times and today and still can’t get past the customize identity screen. Like you I can wait but all the same it’s really poor. |

Relied on the cache, hence the lack of ground textures. Went a little off-piste and made a flock of sheep scarper.
I do not like the new interaction model, even after switching to "Legacy": takes ages to twiddle knobs.

Off to a good start so far. Thought I'd give career mode a go on SX and it just freezes when you select an airport. Same thing twice.
Free flight it is (which is just eternally loading, but at least it hasn't crashed).
Fuck it. I'll try again in a few weeks.
