Mountain climbing game from Don't Nod. It's on gamepass so I put about an hour is this morning and so far so good. Climbing mechanics are decent and it's a pretty chilled game so far.
If you liked journey or death stranding then you might like this as well.
Will certainly be going back for more later on.

I put a couple of hours in last night. It’s nice.
It hasn’t really got any harder, and none of my tools have changed from the base, so I’m guessing it’s going to be fairly simple throughout.
I don’t like that they only track 3 of 5 collectibles. The hardest part is finding and accessing those.

As posted on the what you are playing thread, I'm enjoying the simplicity of this and pleasantly surprised at how nice it looks on Series S.
No progress trees and the like so far, which suits me fine. Reached chapter 4 last night where the UE5 engine shows off different bells and whistles and felt a little choppier.
Realised I missed a couple of notable sights but can see me giving it another go at some point.
Chilled, zen-like and melancholic.
Very nice GamePass launch release.

I have this installed on both consoles at the moment, but I’m a little side tracked by Red Dead on Switch. Glad this is as chill as it looked, but that’s exactly the same vibe I am getting with Red Dead and the various challenges and Stranger missions, so I should probably hold off playing this game until I’m done with that one.

This is delightful: a nice little palate cleanser from Alan Wake 2.

Is it like Journey in that it has any mild online functionality or is it completely solo? Interested in this but it's £20 on PSN and feel as though waiting for a sale would be the shout. Just don't want to jump in when it's a dead game if there's an online side.

Purely solo from what I've played and can't see how online would add anything. In fact it would detract quite a bit.

Well, that was a beautiful game. About 6 hrs with a few missed items. I rarely start games nowadays, never mind finishing them. Think this was just about perfect. Very little to grumble about other than perhaps a few more puzzles would have been nice. Played on console but will likely run through again once I have my new PC as I think UltraWide would help on some of the amazing vistas. Missed a couple of shells, an altar and a rockpile and a handful of letters - guess I missed a couple of branches

Finished this just now, missed loads of collectables, don't care about that at all. Had a great time with it and the ending is lovely.

Oh hey, tried this a wee bit earlier on. It's good. Love the art style and the calm of climbing puzzling.
Think I will be enjoying this one. 😀

This is a lovely looking game. I put my first couple of hours into it this evening and spent a lot of time just admiring the lighting. The colour transitions and how the light diffuses. It’s beautiful.
Does the game get particularly challenging at any point, or is it a pretty chill experience throughout? I’m trying my hardest not to worry about missing collectibles or going the wrong way, but my compulsion may yet get the better of me.
I’m really enjoying though.

Nope, it gets slightly more challenging but never anything other than chilled.
It's just a game to enjoy and experience.

It's mostly fairly obvious. I have missed some stuff, which must be fairly well hidden.
It's got some tougher climbs, but nothing nuts so far (chapter 4). Once or twice I have had to scratch my head a bit as to where to go next, but there's guides on YT etc if hints are required and you can usually work it out in tbe end.

Cheers folks! That’s pretty much what I wanted to hear! I haven’t found the climbing particularly challenging yet, but I have figured out a rhythm with the shoulder buttons that let’s me climb like a Gecko. It makes up for the ridiculous amount of time I spend wondering around these little caves.

Forgot to mention I found an Easter egg early on. On the lighthouse there’s a toilet. Next to it, rather than loo roll or a loo roll holder, are 3 shells.

I really enjoyed this, doesn't outstay its welcome...
Would have enjoyed some more mechanics of Zelda type "use existing mechanics in new ways". I was pretty sure I was grabbing all collectibles until the end of the sun scorched chapter where blowing the horn kicked you into the next chapter without allowing you to go back.
Would really enjoy these mechanics in a more open worldy/procedurally generated follow-up/expansion.

This happened to me too! I definitely found a letter before triggering the cutscene, but no idea if there was anything else there.

There’s not.
Once you finish the game it tells you what you’ve missed on which levels, and you can jump back in to any of them.

Awesome news, as I’m really trying to fight my completionist behaviour with this game. A fault of mine, rather than the game, but the urges are strong.
I imagine if I replayed it though, it would take a fraction of the time to finish.

I presume I’m on the last chapter now, and the game continues to look and sound utterly amazing, but all I could think about last night was imagine if Tomb Raider was like this?
I would 100% get behind something that combines the large scale puzzles of the original games with the movement and climbing of this game. You could completely scrub the combat and I’d still be absolutely enthralled.
This game has been excellent.
